HRANA News Agency – Hussein Ronaghi’s father wrote a letter to the prosecutor of Hussein Ronaghi’s case in Tehran. Hussein Ronaghi is a political prisoner and human rights activist who has been recently suffering from health problems in the prison.
According to the HRANA, the Human Rights Association News Agency, Hussein Ronaghi who has lost one kidney due to lack of appropriate medical attention, is currently in the ward #7 of the Evin prison.
The following is the full text of this letter:
“The honorable prosecutor of the public and revolutionary court of Tehran, Mr. Jafari Dolatabadi,
Hello, the authorities wanted to take my child, Hussein Ronaghi without permission to the Martyrs hospital of Tajrish. As Hussein’s father, I will not authorize anybody to take my son to the medical clinic and education of Tajrish hospital. We are concerned that some of the authorities order to intentionally administer wrong drug or injection to my son to kill him. The Martyrs hospital of Tajrish is an educational health center that has no specialized facility for the treatment of kidney failure. I had informed the authorities of the prison, the auditing organization of the prisons of Iran, and the prosecutor’s office and emphasized my son should not be moved without my permission unless I accompany him and stay informed of his needs and medical situation. This would be necessary to ensure my son receives proper medical attention and avoid further problems, for instance the problem that led to loss of one of his kidneys in the past.
During the last month, the authorities didn’t permit proper medical treatment or transfer to a decent hospital. This resulted in serious deterioration of his health condition. Now, after this long time, they would like to transfer him to the Martyrs hospital of Tajrish, which is a healthcare educational center that lacks specialized care facilities.
Our past experience indicates that these authorities are not trustworthy because Hussein was previously transferred to the Baghiatollah hospital and the doctors recommended starting the treatment and operation. However, the authorities hided his critical conditions and doctors recommendations from us, and this resulted in worsening of Hussein’s health.
I have informed the prosecutor’s office, the auditing organization of the prisons of Iran, and the authorities of the prison that my son can not be moved to the Tajrish hospital without my permission. His transfer must be coordinated with us, and we should accompany him because we don’t trust the authorities and some of the authorities plan to intentionally administer wrong drug to my son to kill him. We are concerned that our absence can provide an opportunity to fulfill their dreadful plan.
I ask you, the honorable prosecutor, to pay urgent attention to this matter and help saving the life of my son and releasing him as soon as possible.”
