Two Political and Conscience Prisoners’ Letter on the New Year

HRANA News Agency – Ibrahim Firouzi and Arash Moghadam Aslanpoor in a letter on the New Year have written, “Forsaking people is not forgiveness. Forgiveness is a response to the confession by which, we abandon our resentment and anger for not being consumed by them. Forgiveness means a choice that we love people in contrast with what they have done to us. Forgiveness is not redeeming the relationships, but empowering us to live in peace and love people when they hate”.

The complete text of the letter of these two prisoners of ward number 10 of Rajaei Shahr is as following:

Behold hearts, another spring is coming

Let’s start from here, nobody is perfect and we don’t do the best work. Everybody makes mistakes and sometimes hearts people around him and even the ones that he loves the most. Sometime we say things that heart people. We cannot erase our past, but we can confess and accept that we were wrong. Now, we have only two choices, to forgive or to hate and both are our choices for what we want to be.

Many of us are looking for justice and think that we ourselves are far from mistakes. We blame others for the problems and even sometimes know them as the reason behind our mistakes. We connect each day with the day before and carry our past failures and disgraces. We let unpleasant feelings steer our today, and anger and revenge alive inside us, and by doing so, we lose our today. The point is our past has become history. So, if someone has made a mistake, he either realizes it and confesses, or insists on his/her behavior. Without having any judgment, we believe the best way is to let the universe and God decide and we know the God, is both the God of justice and the God of dance. We do not let others behaviors ruin our today.

Forsaking people is not forgiveness. Forgiveness is a response to the confession by which, we abandon our resentment and anger for not being consumed by them. Forgiveness means a choice that we love people in contrast with what they have done to us. Forgiveness is not redeeming the relationships, but empowering us to live in peace and love people when they hate.

We do not know about you, but this is our choice, so decide what you want to be. You know we are talking about a new day, a change, a day of happiness and forgiveness, the Nowruz. The day that has remained for thousands of years from our ancestor’s faith, and still is very special to us.

Accept us with coming of this great feast. Greetings to all mothers who are trying hard to support their children and family and carry the responsibility of children alone, greetings to all fathers who even with having multiple jobs and working shifts, barely could provide their families, but they do not get disappointed. Greetings to all children separated from their families who are trying to live well, despite all the hardships that have been imposed to them. Greetings to all people who are challenged with separation, but keep themselves positive. Greetings to all patients who keep going against all of difficulties and use their power to do something positive. Greetings to all people who are spending time to help divested children. Greetings to all people, who are spending their life to help to improve the culture, literature, art, environment and social conscientious.

Happy New Year and happy Nowruz

Happy this tradition of our ancestors to all freedom seeking Iranians
