Kurdish prisoner refused to go to hospital in protest
HRANA News Agency – Naseh Yousefi, a Kurdish political prisoner in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj, has refused to go to the hospital in protest to being insulted by prison authorities who required him to wear a prison uniform and placed in handcuffs and shackles prior to his transfer.

A political activist was arrested in West Azerbaijan
HRANA News Agency – Esmail Ali Mirzai, the administrator of the West Azerbaijan branch of the Mosharekat party has been arrested by the intelligence forces.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), he has been arrested on Friday 17th May afternoon.

According to a report by Fars, Mohsen Pak Ayin, says these two were arrested because of having unusual relationships.

Two political activists have been tried
HRANA News Agency – Sirwan and Shirzad Hossein Panahi, the two Kurdish civic activists have been sentenced to 6 months of prison charged with propaganda against the government in the revolutionary court of Karaj.

A political activist is arrested in Tabriz
oHRANA News Agency – Abdollah Sadoughi, a political activist living in Tabriz, has been arrested on 13th May.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abdollah Sadoughi was already sentenced to 1 year of prison by the revolutionary court of Tabriz.

Attorney Masoud Shams Nejad is arrested in Orumieh
HRANA News Agency – Masoud shams Nejad, an attorney and on the faculty of Payam Nour and Azad universities in Orumieh, was arrested on Thursday May 9, 2013 and transferred to Orumieh prison after initial interrogation.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), shams Nejad is currently in Orumieh prison and since his transfer there all phone contacts from the ward he is incarcerated in have been cut off.
