HRANA News Agency – Hundreds of prisoners on death row are being kept in Rajai Shahr prison. HRANA tries to attract the public support to save them from the gallows by publication of these prisoners’ identities. In this regard, the names of 38 prisoners on death row in Rajai Shahr prison is being published as follows.

The Case of 100 Death Row Prisoners to be “Clarified” within 3 Months; Authorities

HRANA News Agency – It was announced to at least a hundred death row prisoners, in prison of Urmia that in the next three months their “case” will become clear. This rare action has created a wave of concern among prisoners and their families.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), recently, the authorities of Urmia Prison called at least a hundred prisoners who have been sentenced to death on charges of “murder” and have served more than 5 years, to the prison’s Pray Hall (Hosseinieh) and took the address and details of the plaintiffs. Five Men and Two Women Executed in Birjand

HRANA News Agency – Five men and two women were executed in connection with drug crimes in the central prison of Birjand on Thursday.

At Least 7 Prisoners Hanged in Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – At least seven prisoners were executed in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, and there is still no news about one other prisoner.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the death penalty of at least seven prisoners was implemented in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj. Prisoner Hanged in Rasht, Despite Warnings of Amnesty International

HRANA News Agency – Despite warnings of Amnesty International, Rashid Kouhi was executed on the charge of drug offenses without the right of appeal in Lakan prison of Rasht.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Rashid Kouhi, at the morning of April 9, 2016 was executed in Lakan prison of Rasht in connection with the discovery of 800 g jar in his bag. Last entreaty of his family to stop the execution and earn a chance to submit an application was refused by the authorities. At Least 977 Executions in Iran in 2015; Amnesty International

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International reported that in 2015, the rate of executions in the world was the highest in the past 25 years and Iran, along with Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have been announced as the countries with the highest number of executions.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Amnesty International has announced in a report that in 2015 at least 1634 people were executed in 25 countries. Ehsan Shahqasemi Released from the Prison

HRANA News Agency – Ehsan Shahqasemi who had been sentenced to death on charge of murder of a Basij member was released by the end of the sentence of the general aspects of the crime and also obtaining the consent of the victim’s parents, the charge of murder and the death sentence of Shahqasemi had taken place in circumstances that the death of “Ali Khalili” was three years after the clash and the he had consented officially and received the payment as the blood money or the cost of treatment.

Another Juvenile Offender in Sanandaj Prison Sentenced to Death

HRANA News Agency – With issuing of another death sentence for a juvenile offender in Sanandaj Prison, the number of prisoners who are sentenced to death for an offence they have committed while being a juvenile, has rose to 5.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a juvenile offender (K.N) imprisoned at Sanandaj Prison, who at the time of crime was 17 years and 9 months old,  was sentenced to death by retaliation in kind (Qisas) for murder. Juvenile Offender at the Risk of Imminent Execution in Iran: Amnesty International

HRANA News Agency – In a statement of urgent action, Amnesty International warned about the imminent execution of Himan Uraminejad who was sentenced to death on charge of murder when he was a juvenile, and asked the Iranian authorities to stop this verdict.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Amnesty International called on the Iranian authorities to stop the death sentence of the juvenile offender, Himan Uraminejad whose verdict was confirmed by the Supreme Court.
