HRANA News Agency – On Tuesday morning, October 4, 2011, political prisoner Aziz Khakzad was secretly hanged in Kerman Central Prison on charges of Waging War Against God (Moharebeh).He was a resident of Salmas County in Kurdistan Province and was exiled to Kerman to serve his prison term.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Aziz Khakzad was a 29 year old political activist arrested in 2007.The Revolutionary Court in Khoy County sentenced him to death on charges of Waging War Against God and helping opposition groups.As a result of efforts made by his family and friends, the Appeals Court had reduced the death sentence to 5 years in prison and exiled him to Kerman.
Last night, Aziz Khakzad was unexpectedly transferred from the general prison population to solitary confinement and was hanged in Kerman Prison this morning.Aziz Khakzad’s family received the news of his execution this morning but Iranian government officials have yet to confirm the report.

HRANA News Agency – On Sunday, September 18, 2011, twenty two prisoners were hanged in Evin and Rajai-Shahr prisons.These inmates were previously transferred out of Ghazel Hesar Prison.The news of seven other prisoners also executed on Sunday was released yesterday.

HRANA News Agency – Early Tuesday morning, on September 13, 2011, Kosha Parsa Motlagh was hanged in public.The hanging took place on Darya Blvd., past Imam Sadegh University crossing near the location where Kosha Motlagh had killed and stabbed his classmate, Mahsa, on July 6, 2011.Since the crime occurred on Tehran’s Modiriat Bridge, this murder is often referred to as “Modiriat Bridge Murder.”
HRANA News Agency – This morning, July 19, 2011, three prisoners were hanged publicly in Kermanshah’s Azadi Square on charges of kidnapping and adultery.These prisoners identified by their first names were Milad Q. (son of Shirali), Javad A. (son of Sultan) and Javad A. (son of Habib). Although the prisoners’ exact age was not released, Iranian authorities indicated that the prisoners’ average age was 21 years and two months.
HRANA News Agency – Citing the Islamic Law of Retribution, Judge Noorollah Aziz Mohammadi presided over Tehran Province Criminal Court, Branch 71, and sentenced an elderly man identified by the name “Saman” to be hanged for the killing of his wife, Nahid.
