An Imprisoned Sufi Transferred to Solitary Confinement

HRANA News Agency – Amir Rajabi, Sufi prisoner in the central prison of Zahedan, since several days ago has been transferred to solitary confinement, because he has refused to shave his mustache and has gone on hunger strike.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Amir Rajabi, a Sufi from Kermanshah, who has been detained for ordinary crimes and is held in central prison of Zahedan, has been transferred to quarantine of this prison since several days ago, because he has refused the prison authorities’ order to shave his mustache and has gone on hunger strike. Ebrahim Firoozi still Imprisoned although his Sentence is Finished

HRANA News Agency – Ebrahim Firoozi, Christian convert, who has been imprisoned since 17 months ago, is still waiting for the judge Moghiseh’s decision, although his sentence ended on 13th January.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Ebrahim Firoozi, Christian convert, who was arrested last time on 25th August 2013, formerly was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court in Robatkarim to 1 year imprisonment and 2 years exile to Sarbaz Town. Iran’s Supreme Court Revokes Sentences for Six Sunni Prisoners

HRANA News Agency – Iran’s Supreme Court has revoked the sentences for six Sunni prisoners, four of whom were awaiting execution, after admitting that there was ‘insufficient evidence’.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the Supreme Court admitted that there was insufficient evidence to uphold the convictions of the men, who had been charged with ‘Moharabeh [enmity against God] and acting against national security through involvement in the assassination of Mustafa Jang Zehi [a pro-regime cleric]‘. 12 Sunni Men from Mahabad Arrested in Iran

HRANA News Agency – 12 Sunni youth have been arrested by Iran’s Revolutionary Guards (IRGC).

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the men, originally from the city of Mahabad, had left the city for a holiday and prayed congregational Friday prayers in a village near to their holiday resort on Friday 16 January 2015. Sunni Prayer Room Closed in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – The Iranian authorities have closed down a Sunni prayer room  in the Pounak neighborhood of Tehran.

The 5th Session of Trial of 6 Bahais in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – The fifth court hearing of charges against six Bahais took place in Tabriz on January 14. The accused are four members of the Bahadori family, Shabnam Issakhani and Rashin Saberi.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), during the hearing Simin Rasouli, the mother of the Bahadori family, was questioned, and the court was adjourned until January 21. In the previous hearings, Farzad Bahadori, the father of the family, Mrs. Rasouli, the children Sahar and Nassim Bahadori, Mrs. Shabnam Issakhani and Mrs. Rashin Saberi, were questioned for four hours. Bahai Student Expelled from the University of Mazandaran

HRANA News Agency – Noura Mesami, a Bahai student of software engineering at the University of Mazandaran, has been expelled from the university at the end of her first semester of studies.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA),  she had honestly stated her religion as “Bahai” in her application, and was excluded from the end of term examinations.

Security Forces Prevent Sunni Friday Congregational Prayers

HRANA News Agency – Iranian security forces barred Sunni worshipers from entering a Sunni prayer site in Tehran on Friday 9 January 2015, preventing them from holding congregational Friday prayers.

According to the report published by “Saham” Website, security forces were deployed Friday morning in the Pounak neighborhood of Tehran, where they blocked roads leading to the Sunni prayer site and prevented worshipers from entering the building. Two Death-Row Ill Sunni prisoners Transferred to Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Syed Hadi Hosseini (left) and Seddigh Mohammadi (right), two Sunni prisoners with psychological illnesses on death-row in Iran, were transferred to Rajai Shahr prison earlier today.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the two men, who had been sentenced to death for ‘Moharabeh [enmity against God] through supporting Salafi groups’, had been held in appalling conditions in the notorious Ghezel Hesar prison near Tehran for the past two years. Bahai Woman Died because of Lethal Poisoning in Shiraz

HRANA News Agency – Leila Kargar, a 42-year-old Bahai woman living in Shiraz, has been poisoned and killed by an unknown person, using Aluminium Phosphide, a powder that is used to kill insects and rodents.
