Four Sunni prisoners announce end to hunger strike

HRANA News Agency – Four Sunni prisoners awaiting execution in Iran announced an end to their hunger strike after 39 days without food, after being returned to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj yesterday.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the men, Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Molayee, Jahangir Dehghani and Jamshed Dehghani began their hunger strike on 14 June 2014 after they were transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj in order for their execution to be carried out. Three Sunni preachers arrested in Ahwaz

HRANA News Agency – Iran’s crackdown on the Sunnis of Ahwaz continues as three Sunni preachers from Iran’s Ahwazi Arab minority were arrested on Sunday in Mahshahr city, Kuzestan province of Iran.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), 23-year old Hossein Saboori and his 21-year old brother Hassan Saboori were arrested and taken to an unknown location by security forces on Sunday 20 July 2014 in the town of Taleghani (Al-Kora) in Mahshahr city, Khuzestan. Jail Sentences for 15 Baha’is in Shiraz

HRANA News Agency – According to a Persian report carried by ILNA news agency, the Iranian lawyer Guity Pourfazel has informed them of the conviction of her 15 Bahai clients in the Revolutionary Court of Shiraz.

Sarang Etehadi begins a one-year sentence

HRANA News Agency – Mr. Sarang Etehadi has been summoned to begin serving his one-year prison sentence on charges of “propaganda against the state through participation in Bahai worship and prayer groups.”

Six Bahais arrested in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – Six Bahais are reported to have been arrested in Tabriz on July 12.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), their names are given as Farzad Bahadari, Samin Rasouli and their children, Sahar and Nassim Bahadari, who are members of one family, Shabnam Issakhani, a mother of two, and Rashin Saberi, who is reported to be 8 months pregnant. Report from the Bahai wing of Vakilabad Women’s Prison, Mashhad

HRANA News Agency – The fifth ward of the women’s prison of the central prison of Mashhad, in Vakilabad, consists of one room which is approximately 30 square meters, including medical services and a bathroom.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), at present six Bahai women prisoners are held there, all charged with acting against national security and spreading propaganda against the Islamic Republic under Articles 499 and 500 of the Iranian Constitution by promoting the Bahai Faith and participating in its activities. 7 Sunni converts arrested for holding congregational Taraweeh prayers

HRANA News Agency – Seven Sunni men from Iran’s Ahwazi Arab minority were arrested on Friday after holding congregational Taraweeh prayers in the north of Ahwaz city, Khuzestan province of Iran.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the men, who had all converted from Shi’ism to Sunni Islam, were arrested before dawn by security forces on 18 July 2014 and taken to an unknown location. Child of Sunni prisoner detained for three years without sentence

HRANA News Agency – Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has prevented the release of the child of a Sunni prisoner who has been held for three years without sentence, despite being granted release on bail by the courts six months ago.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abdollah Abadian, the son of Sunni prisoner Malek Mohammad Abadian, was arrested at the age of 16. He has been detained without sentence for the past three years in the Ministry of Intelligence detention center and in the Central Prison of Zahedan, southeast Iran. Raid on Sunni prisoners – guards confiscate religious books

HRANA News Agency – Security forces conducted a raid on the Sunni prisoners’ section of Rajai Shahr prison in Iran last week, confiscating religious books and overturning their property.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), more than 80 prison guards stormed Section 10, Ward 4 of the prison at 4pm last Monday. Prison guards encouraged vicious attack on two Sunni prisoners

HRANA News Agency – Two Sunni prisoners from Iran’s Baloch minority were left injured after being beaten by other prisoners in an attack reportedly encouraged by prison guards in Ardabil Central Prison, northwestern Iran.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the two men, Mohammad Sabir Malekraisi (pictured) and Amin Iranshahri, were hit and beaten by prisoners in a seemingly unprovoked attack that happened without warning.
