A jailed student activist on hunger strike

HRANA News Agency – Arash Mohammadi, the imprisoned leftist student activist, has begun hunger strike announcing his support to Shahrokh Zamani’s demand of being returned to Rajai Shahr Prison in Karaj.

Maryam Shafipour Has Been Sentenced To 7 Years Imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Expelled Qazvin International University student activist, Maryam Shafipour has been sentenced to seven years imprisonment.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran has sentenced Marymam Shafipour to seven years imprisonment on charges of “assembly and collusion with intent to act against the national security”, and “spreading propaganda against the regime”.

 

This banned from education student has been incarcerated at Evin prison since August 27, 2013. She was kept in solitary confinement for more than two months before she was moved to Ward 350. She was deprived of seeing her lawyer during her incarceration in solitary confinement.

 

Maryam Shafipour was convicted and sentenced to a total of 7 years imprisonment on the following charges:

 

1- Five years imprisonment on the charge of assembly and collusion with intent to act against the national security

 

2- One year imprisonment on the charge of membership in the Right to Education Council.

 

3- One year imprisonment on the charge of spreading propaganda against the regime.

 

Maryam Shafipour is the first student activist arrested after the election of Hassan Rouhani as president of Iran.

 

Maryam Shafipour was a Mehdi Karoubi campaign activist in the 2009 presidential election.

 

Previously it was reported by her family that she was beaten by her male interrogators during interrogation sessions for refusing to cooperate with them in giving a false confession.

A student activist is summoned to the intelligence

HRANA News Agency – Mehdi Amani, the student activist of Yazd University has been summoned to the intelligence office through a phone call.

A sutdent activist has been tried

HRANA News Agency – During the latest trial, Judge Salavati refused to release Maryam Shafipoor on bail and she was returned  to Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the trial session of Maryam Shafipoor, the member of Mehdi Karroubi’s election campaigns women committee was held in branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran on February 2, 2014 after being under arrest for 7 months. After a 6-day furlough, Arash Mohammadi returned to prison

HRANA News Agency – Arash Mohammadi, the leftist student activist, who had come on furlough since January 22nd, returned to Tabriz Central Prison on January 28th.

 

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the authorities of Tabriz Central Prison had first agreed with a 4-day furlough for him which was extended for 2 days afterwards because of his kidney disease. HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Shahrezaei was transferred from quarantine ward to ward 8, instead of ward 350 of Evin prison.

Maryam Shafipour collapsed in prison and transferred to prison clinic

HRANA News Agency – Maryam Shafipour, the imprisoned student in women’s ward in Evin prison collapsed and was transferred to health clinic of prison following continuous palpitation she had during last week.

 

According to the report of Human Rights activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the prison officials ignored her acute health condition despite the prison doctor’s diagnosis that she should urgently be sent for MRA. Maryam Shafi Pour is still under arrest

HRANA News Agency – Maryam Shafi Pour, the student activist who has been arrested on July 17 and kept in custody in Evin prison, is still on limbo, despite the fact that her trial is carried out.

 

According to JARAS, after one month from Maryam Shafi Pour’s trial, by administration of judge Salavati in branch 15 the case is remained undetermined yet. The judge declared document deprivation, and sent back the case for more investigations. Imprisonment sentences for 2 student activists in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – Amir Nazeri and Afshin Barzegar Jamshidi, the student activists of Tabriz University, have been sentenced to 6 months in prison, by judge Shokoohtazeh, in branch 104 of Tabriz criminal court.

 

Naghi Mahmoudi, the attorney lawyer, told to HRANA’s reporter: “These two student activists, align with Arash Mohammadi, had been arrested in a gathering in the evening of June 15, 2013 by IRGC and were released after two days, on a 10 million Toman bail”.
