Monthly Report – An Overview of the Human Rights Situation in Iran in January-February 2016

HRANA News Agency – The Department of Statistics and Publications of the Human Rights Activists Association of Iran has published the following monthly report on the human rights situation in Iran during the period of January-February, 2016 (Persian calendar month of Bahman, 1394). This report cannot perfectly and comprehensively reflect the details of human rights concerns in Iran for obvious reasons including the existing governmental limitations and ban on the free exchange of information. It should be noted that in addition to the monthly reports, the Department of Statistics and Publications of the Human Rights Activists Association of Iran publishes a comprehensive and analytical annual report at the end of each year. The 59th Issue of “Peace Line” Has Been Published

HRANA News Agency – The fifty-ninth issue of the “Peace Line” journal, human rights special journal was published.

“Peace Line” monthly magazine talks about colportage in Iran, and about the reason of its existence, its development and hawkers problems, in its “special case” article, titled; “Hawkers thousand vortexes”. In this regard an interview has been done with Bahman Ahmadi Amoui, economics graduated journalist and former political prisoner who recently conducted research about the vendor in Iran. 7 Prisoners Sentenced to Additional Imprisonment in Orumieh Prison since 2011

HRANA News Agency – A trend of increasing the sentences of the prisoners in Orumieh Prison has begun since 2011 as Ali Ahmad Soleiman, Mustafa Ali Ahmed and Qader Mohammadzadeh were sentenced each to three months in prison in the spring of that year on charges of propaganda against the system.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in 2011 other two prisoners, Ali Ahmad Soleiman and Omid Rahmani were sentenced on charge of propaganda against the state to three months in prison. UN Human Rights Council Extended Ahmed Shaheed’s Mandate

HRANA News Agency – The United Nations Human Rights Council, by 20 votes in favor, 15 against and 11 abstentions, extended the mandate of the special rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran for one more year.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the resolution on the human rights situation in Iran “L. 27” adopted at a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva and the mandate of Ahmed Shaheed was extended for one more year. 34 Human Rights Organizations Call for Extension of Ahmed Shaheed’s Mandate

HRANA News Agency – 34 human rights organizations called on the member states of the UN Human Rights Council to extend the mission of Ahmed Shaheed to defend human rights in Iran.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), along with the 31st session of the UN Human Rights Council, 34 nongovernmental organization asked the member states to extend the mission of UN special rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran. The 58th Number of “Peace Line” Published

HRANA News Agency – The 58th number of “Peace Line” journal, publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran, has been published. This issue of the magazine, is an overview on the “Human Rights Activists in Iran” on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of its establishment

“Peace Line” has asked the activists of civil society and human rights activists such as Dr. Abdolkarim Lahiji, Mehrangiz Kar, Shadi Sadr, Hadi Ghaemi, Elaheh Sharifpour (Hiks) and Mahmood Amiri Moghadam about their opinion about its activities. The 57th Number Of “Khate Solh Monthly” Has Been Published

HRANA News Agency – The Fifty-seventh issue of the monthly magazine of “Line of Peace” (Khat e Solh), human rights journal, was published.

In this number a special case called “breathing hard,”  have been discussed about the relationship between the petrol and violent crimes among members of society with Dr Ahmad Alavi, an economist and Sam Khosrawifard, environmental expert and also with Dr Hussein Baher, founder of school of ethology in Iran.
