Fakhrodin Faraji Taken to Ward of Prisoners with Infectious Diseases

HRANA News Agency – Fakhrodin Faraji, political prisoner in Tabas prison was transferred to infirmary quarantine ward which is ward of prisoners who suffer from infectious diseases (HIV, Hepatitis).
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Fakhrodin Faraji, political prisoner in Tabas prison, who has been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment, was transferred to infirmary quarantine ward. This ward is for prisoners who suffer from infectious diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis.
An informed source told HRANA’s reporter: “The reason of his transfer to that ward is not known and when he asks, officials do not give a clear answer.”
Tabas prison has about 80 prisoners that more than half of them have been jailed in connection with drugs related crimes. These prisoners are allowed to use their ward’s yard just an hour a day and once every two or three days are allowed to use the phone for 10 minutes.
Fakhrodin Faraji has been transferred to Tabas prison since 4 years ago, and now along with another political prisoner named Mohammad Amin Abdullahi, both are held at this prison.
Fakhrodin Faraji, Kurdish political prisoner, was arrested by Revolutionary Guards along with three others on 6th June 2011 in Shovisheh village of Sanandaj. On 25th August, he was sentenced to 30 years imprisonment and exile to Tabas prison by branch 1 of Revolutionary Court in Sanandaj, on charge of acting against national security and membership in Kumaleh party.
