HRANA News Agency – According to HRA-news agency reporters, families of four Sunni prisoners – Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Mollyi, Jamshid Dehghani and Jahangir Dehghani who have been sentenced to death, visited the authorities of three major forces – parliament, presidency, and justice. They handed in some letters to these authorities.
The families first visited Sunni representatives of the parliament on Wednesday, 25, December, 2014. They also visited the office of president without receiving a clear answer to their questions about the situation of their beloved prisoners. Then, they were able to visit Ali Younesi, the special advisor of the president on the rights of religious and ethnic minorities. During the visit, they submitted their requests, asking for justice and fair trial for their imprisoned family members. Finally, the families submitted similar requests to the office of Islamic Human Rights of the judiciary system.
According to a well-informed resource reporting to HRA-new agency, “the families requested new fair and public trials for their imprisoned family members. They also indicated that Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Mollyi, Jamshid Dehghani, and Jahangir Dehghani signed the interrogations letters without knowing the contents.Their interrogators abused prisoners’ lack of proper education and misled them to sign the letters, promising to be released after signing. Moreover, the families argued that the prisoners have been denied access to proper lawyers and forced to work with a public lawyer, who attended the court sessions without visiting the defendants or even reading their cases. The public lawyer signed the court report without speaking to the defendants or even expressing one word in their defense. The families also added that the court deliberately ignored families request to elect a proper lawyer and the public lawyer worked in orchestra with the prosecutor and court to sentence these four innocent prisoners to death”.
In reaction to this unjust decree, Hamed Ahmadi, Kamal Mollyi, Jamshid Dehghani, and Jahangir Dehghani, Sediq Mohammadi, and Seyyed Hadi Husseini have started a hunger strike since Monday, November 4th, 2013.
