HRANA News Agency – Batir Shah Mohammadov, political prisoner of Rejaei Shahr prison, has been deprived of having phone calls with his relatives.

According to Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Batir Shah Mohammadov, political prisoner of ward number 12 of Rejaei Shahr prison has been deprived of having phone calls with his relatives by the order of assistant prosecutor in the prison.

An informed source told HRANA’s reporter, “He has does not accept the charge and had sent many letters to officials and authorities, including president, foreign affairs minister and judiciary, for not having access to an attorney. But yet, this issue has not been addressed”.

This source continued, “Recently, Khodabakhshi, the assistant prosecutor has deprived him of having phone calls with his family”.

Need to be mentioned, Batir Shah Mohammadov who has denied the allegation, is the representative of a Russian company. He had intended to open a representative office of his company in Iran, and import the metal that is needed by the government of Iran, under Iranian codes and regulation.

He has been sentenced to 20 years in prison on charge of espionage.
