HRANA – Kaveh Ghasemi Kermanshahi has gone on hunger strike to protest his undefined detention status.
According to HRANA reporters, although Mr. Kermanshahi’s interrogations have ended, this human rights activist has been detained for nearly 4 months in solitary confinement at the Intelligence Ministry detention center in Kermanshah.
So far, the case interrogator and intelligence authorities have repeatedly assured Kaveh Ghasemi Kermanshahi and his family that he will be released on bail, but each time his release has been stopped.
During his detention, Mr. Kermanshahi has not been allowed to contact his family, and he has only had two face-to-face visits with them. In addition, his case and the charges against him remain unclear to this day, and his lawyers have not been permitted to access his file.
To protest his situation, this activist went on hunger strike a week ago, until he was allowed to call his family.
At present, Kaveh is in poor physical condition following his hunger strike, and he has complained about the harsh conditions of his detention.
