A Kurdish student sentenced to imprisonment

HRANA News Agency – Miad Ahmadi , from   Sanandaj  city , received a 5 year suspended jail sentence and a fine of 5,000,000 Tomans due to his political activities on Facebook.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Miad Ahmadi –a student of Architecture at Sanandaj Azad University- was arrested on 9th April by intelligence security officers. He was kept at custody for a month at the Ministry of Intelligence and National Security and then he was transferred to the Central Prison of Sanandaj.
He was later released on bail and on temporary basis from the prison.
On Sunday 6th July, Miad Ahmadi received a guilty sentence from the 4th Branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Court. He was accused of cooperating with Kurdish groups and parties, insolence to the originator of Islamic Republic of Iran and activities for overthrowing the Islamic Republic Regime. Based on these allegations, he has received a 5 year suspended sentence and was fined 5,000,000 Tomans.
A well informed source has told HRANA reporter “All these charges were brought to Miad Ahmadi on the basis of his personal Facebook political activities.”
