HRANA News Agency – In the city of Mashhad, security forces have arrested 6 people who are active in the field of modeling. Poria Afkhami, Mehdi Kafash Jodi and Romina Arbab are three of the detainees.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the IRGC intelligence officers of Mashhad arrested Poria Afkhami after inspecting his house and workplace, on August 28.
The officers took some of his personal belongings with them, including laptops, a flash memory, a hard drive and mobile phones during arresting this fashion photographer.
Mr. Afkhami was held in the IRGC detention for 17 days in Mashhad, 15 days of which was in solitary confinement on charges of “providing promotes corruption and prostitution”. He is currently free on the bail of 1000 million IRR, until the trial.
Earlier, the deputy prosecutor of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad highlighted that the activities of modeling is a kind of “soft war” to “change the identity of Iran” and said that eight groups in the field of modeling were shut down in Mashhad, 30 people were summoned and six people arrested respectively.
There is no information yet about the latest legal status of Romina Arbab, photographer of modeling and Mehdi Kafash Jodi, makeup artist.
In recent months, dealing with modeling and fashion activists in different cities across the country have intensified and authorities have called it a “soft war”.
