A Report on Piruz Mansouri’s Situation in Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Ali (Piruz) Mansouri, political prisoner is serving his 8th years in prison while he has been deprived of having furlough and is suffering from different diseases.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Piruz Mansouri, political prisoner who is in prison since 2006 and serving his 17 years in prison sentence in Rajaei Shahr prison, has been deprived of having furlough by the time this report is being edited, and is suffering from different diseases.
Iran Mansouri, the daughter of this political prisoner in an interview with HRANA mentioned that one year of his father’s sentence has been pardoned in EID Fitr and said, “in the current situation, he has spent more than half of his sentence”.
She also said about the parole for his father after serving more than half of his sentence, “due to the fact that he believes that for the parole he has to write a request letter, and that means that he has accepted the court’s sentence, so he has refused to write a letter”.
Iran Mansouri mentioned about the furlough during the last eight years, “for furlough he has to write a request. Besides, this request one billion bail is required, and even after that the furlough would be 3-2 days. For these 3-2 days the family of prisoner should bear a lot of humiliation”.
About the diseases that this political prisoner is suffering from, she said “he is diagnosed with hepatitis type B which is not dangerous in a normal condition, but when it would be transferred it could be dangerous. He is also suffering from stomachic. Of course, the continuous headache and is good now. This recovery has been done throughout the time and prison’s clinic did not do anything for it”.
Mansouri said, “the point is that the clinic is doing nothing for the patient and going to the clinic does not have any effect”. She mentioned his father’s demand for exercising and mentioned the lack of facilities in prison, “he was jogging in the yard with improper shoes for a long time and that had a side effect for him. Giving a pair of sport shoes to him is very difficult and takes a long time. Due to his age, his condition could be worsen by the effects of lack of exercising”.
Mohammad Ali (Piruz) Mansouri, was arrested on the nineteenth anniversary of mass executions of political prisoners on 1988, in September 2007, and was sentenced to 17 years in prison, 150000 Tomans fine, and exile to Rajaei Shahr prison, by judge Salavati. He is one of the political prisoners of 80s.
