Aso Rostami Transferred to a Hospital Outside Prison
HRANA New Agency – Aso Rostami, civil activist in ward 8 of Evin prison, was transferred to a hospital outside the prison due to severe lung infection and bleeding.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), he was transferred on Tuesday 21st July, and despite the incompletion of the treatment, Aso Rostami was sent back to the prison after couple of hours, while he still needed to get treatment. Aso Rostami Suffering from Lung Infection in Evin Prison
HRANA News Agency – Aso Rostami, civil rights activist who is imprisoned in ward number 8 of Evin prison, is suffering from lung infection and bleeding, but has not received proper medical treatment yet.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), after two weeks of coughing, from Wednesday July 1st this prisoner has blood in his coughs and he is in a very bad condition.
A close source to this prisoner told HRANA’s reporter, “breathing problem of this prisoner is increasing, and since June 15 he is using oxygen and there is blood in his coughs. When the prison’s physician visited him after two weeks and Aso requested for being transferred to a hospital, he responded: ‘I decide about it, not you’ “.
Aso Rostami is a 28-year-old civil rights activist who was arrested after the gathering in front of UN office which was held for showing solidarity with Kobani, on October 8, 2014 along with other activists, and after interrogation process, was transferred to ward number 8 of Evin.
He has been sentenced to 7 years in prison on charges of propaganda against the regime, collusion against the national security and insulting supreme leader. His trial, along with three others in branch number 28 of the revolutionary court with chief judge Moghiseh took only 15 minutes, and these defendants received in total of 18 years in prison.
Other allegations against this prisoner are, cyber activities and criticizing human rights condition of Iran, sympathy with political prisoner’s families and death row prisoners, attending the rally in solidarity with Kobani, sympathy with the families of 2009 victims and having contact with human rights activist.
Aso Rostami is currently in the 9th months of detention, and kept in ward number 8 of Evin prison and waiting for the verdict of the appeal court.
24 Years of Imprisonment for 3 Civil Activists
HRANA News Agency – Omid Alishenas, Aso Rostami and Ali Nuri have been sentenced to 24 years of imprisonment.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), a verdict issued by the Revolutionary Court on May 30th have sentenced Omid Alishenas to 10 years and each of Aso Rostami and Ali Nuri to 7 years of imprisonment. Omid Alishenas and Aso Rostami Refused to Attend the Court Session
HRANA News Agency – Omid Alishenas and Aso Rostami, two political prisoners at Evin prison, were not sent to the court, as they refused to wear prison clothes.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), these two prisoners of ward 8 of Evin prison, were supposed to be transferred to the court on Sunday morning, 10th May, for notification of their sentence, but as they refused to wear the prison clothes, the relevant agents Avoided to take them to the court and transferred them back to ward 8. HRANA News Agency – Saeid Shirzad, Hamid Babaei and Masood Arab Chobdar, 3 prisoners of Evin prison, were exiled to Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, after a guild complain and they are on hunger strike in quarantine ward in this prison.

8 Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Evin and Rajai Shahr Prisons
HRANA News Agency – Following prisoners’ protests against compulsory stay in prison courtyard “to get some fresh air” in winter weather while prisoners do not have appropriate warm cloth, 8 political prisoners in ward 8 of Evin prison were transferred to solitary confinements and subsequently, they went on hunger strike. Recent news suggests that, Saeid Shirzad has been beaten and transferred to Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj.

6 Political Prisoners Started Hunger Strike at Evin Prison in Tehran
HRANA News Agency – Following a complain regarding compulsory use of prison’s yard “to get some fresh air” in winter weather and lack of warm clothing for prisoners in ward 8 of Evin prison, Amir Amirgholi, Aso Rostami and Amir Hushang Navaei were taken to solitary confinements, and they went on hunger strike. Also, 3 other prisoners went on hunger strike until those inmates would be returned to the ward from solitary confinements.
