Esmail Gerami Moghaddam Transferred To Ward 7 Of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Esmail Gerami Moghaddam, the imprisoned spokesperson of the Etemade Melli Party was transferred to ward 7 of Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Esmail Gerami Moghaddam, the spokesperson of the Etemade Melli Party was transferred to ward 7 of Evin Prison after 45 days of detention in the cells of 209, on Tuesday morning, 1st September.
The spokesman for the Etemade Meli Party and one of Mehdi Karroubi’s advisors, was arrested on his arrival in Tehran Imam Khomeini International Airport (FSF), in the morning of 17th July. It is said that several months before entering the country, he was tried in absentia and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment.
He was transferred to Evin prison after being arrested in Imam Khomeini Airport, and couple of hours after the arrest in a telephone call with his brother, he said that he was arrested by the Intelligence Ministry.
Esmail Gerami Moghadam had gone to India and Malaysia to follow his education after the office of the Party was sealed in the elections of 2009.
He is suffering severely from lack of proper vision for several years and it is concerned that in the detention, he is deprived of access to proper treatment and specialist medics.
Earlier, Mohseni Ezhehei, a spokesman for the judiciary system, had said that, “Some people who were accused during the riot in 2009 and had fled abroad have been tried in absentia and were sentenced in last March”.
