HRANA News Agency – During a conflict between prisoners in Rajaei Shahr prison, where many political prisoner are imprisoned as well, at least three people were injured by knife and another prisoner has been murdered. The atmosphere inside the prison is reported to be very tense.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Rajaei Shahr prison of Karaj, which is categorized by bureau of prison to be a place for prisoners with violent crimes, is also the biggest place for political-security prisoners in exile. Under the weak management and lack of proper supervision this prison has become a dangerous place. In the recent days a group conflict occurred between prisoners of hall number 18 in ward number 6.
During this conflict, tens of prisoners were injured and at least three prisoners have been severely injuries, and one prisoner with the name of Babak Ghiyasi, who was sentenced to death on charge of murder and was serving his sentence, died in prison clinic due to the severity of the injury.
It is said that the prison guards did not intervene during the conflict. The atmosphere is reported to be very tense.
