HRANA News Agency – Abbas Lesani was was arrested and transferred to prison in Meshkinshar after showing up in the court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on November 7, 2016, Abbas Lesani, Turkish (Azeri) activist in Ardebil, was charged at the first branch of the court of Ardebil and because of not providing the bail of 1 billion IRR, was arrested and taken to the prison in Meshkinshar.
He was charged with “propaganda against the system” due to delivering a speech at the wedding of Mr. Aydin Zakir, another activist in Meshkinshar on August 27.
According to the subpoena which has been delivered to Abbas Lesani’s house on November 3, the Turkish (Azeri) activist had to be present at first branch of the Prosecutor of the General and Revolutionary Court in in Ardabil.
In the subpoena, the reason of being summoned had not been explained.
According to the sources, Mr. Lesani was one of the speakers at the Mr. Aydin Zakir’s wedding and after greeting, he spoke about the necessity of studying, students and Turkish (Azeri) activists.
