Blogger Ahmad Noor-Mohammadi Abadchi Arrested

HRANA News Agency – Ahmad Noor-Mohammadi Abadchi who is a blogger and an activist has been arrested.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in March of 2011, a number of security officers entered Ahmad Noor-Mohammadi Abadchi’s house and after confiscating some of his personal belongings such as his computer, took him to an unknown location. His family’s attempts to contact him have been fruitless.

According to government officials, he has been charged with having connections with some other political activists and also calls to gather for demonstrations and protests.

No News of Young Blogger, Mina Shahrvand

HRANA News Agency – After forty days of arrest, the fate of Mina Shahrvand, a young blogger born in August of 1983, remains unknown.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on February 3, 2011, a number of plainclothes officers raided and searched Mina Shahrvand’s family home. After confiscating her personal property such as government subsidies, books, notes, and CDs, she was arrested and transferred to an unknown location.

Dr. Ali Nazeri Has Been Detained

HRANA- Dr. Ali Nazeri, a prominent dentist, political and human rights activist was arrested by agents of the intelligence ministry at his home on Zaferanieh St. in Tehran last week.

It has been reported to HRANA that although it has been almost two weeks since his arrest, the intelligence ministry and the revolutionary court have been able to keep news of his arrest quiet by threatening his wife and promising his quick release.

Attempt on the Life of Student Activist Shahriar Hossein-Bar in Sistan Balouchestan University

HRANA- Shahriar Hossein-Bar, reformist student activist in Sistan Balouchestan University was attacked and severely beaten by unidentified individuals on campus.

According to Daneshjoo News, Hossein-Bar was twice disciplined and suspended for his activities that included protesting the lack safety and security on campus in 2008, and in 2009 for protesting the election results. He was barred from campus last semester.

Clashes Between Residents of Gajin & Security Forces

HRANA News Agency – On Sunday, November 13, 2011, there were clashes between the residents of Gajin and security forces.During these clashes, several individuals were injured and taken to hospital. The city of Gajin is in Bandar-Abbas County on the southern coast of Iran.

According to a report by Sunni News, security forces opened fired at the residents in the city of Gajin and injured many people around noon on Sunday.Prior to these clashes, security forces shot a local retailer at the beach in the city of Gajin.When other residents attempt to rescue this retailer, police opened fire at the crowd and injured four people.Some of the injured have refused to go to hospital, fearing repercussions from Iranian security forces.

Hundreds of Tehran University Students Protest on the Anniversary of the Dormitory Tragedy

HRANA – Despite exams and increased security measures intended to intimidate students, the “green students” of Tehran University were successful in organizing a protest that drew hundreds of students on Monday June 14, 2010.
According to the students, about 100 students began protesting in front of the main door for the university’s technical school and their numbers grew quickly. Filming by plain clothed agents prevented the on looking crowd (which had grown larger than the main crowd of protestors) from joining the protest. Instead that crowd began to march on university grounds.

Two Christians Summoned & Arrested in Shahriar

HRANA News Agency – On Monday and Tuesday of this week, intelligent agents raided the houses of two Christians in Shahriar, Karaj, and arrested one and summoned the other individual.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on October 17, 2011, intelligent agents raided a citizen’s house in Shahriar but were unable to detain him since he was not home.This individual has been identified as “Mohammad N.”Security agents searched the house and confiscated a computer, books and CDs containing religious teachings and summoned Mohammad N. to the Intelligent Agency.

Similarly, on October 18, 2011, intelligent agents raided Fariborz A.’s house in Shahriar and arrested him.Fariborz A. is a newly converted Christian.During this raid, security agents searched the house and seized his personal property.

Press Release: Cyber terrorism, continuing the strategy of the security system to prevent free flow of information

HRANA – Secretariat of Human Rights Activists in Iran published a statement to cyber attacks, the news Web site called cyber terrorism and condemned such actions violate international law by the Iranian government and the prosecution deserving compensation eyes, he said.

Accordingly, the association also advised, by human rights groups following their mission while trying to deprive the Iranian government from acquiring advanced technologies, communications and censorship, relying on science day and projected needs of the information in support of free flow of information, the necessary measures in this regard are given.
