According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Political prisoner Majid Assadi in Ward 350 of Evin Prison began hunger strike for one week protesting the measures of the branch 15th of Iran’s Revolutionary Court by Judge Salavati toward two political prisoners in Ward 350 in Tehran’s Evin Prison. These two prisoners are Ali Moezi and Vahid Asghari, who were transferred to solitary confinement and banned from any visits.

Ayatollah Boroujerdi Denied Medical Care
HRANA News Agency – On Saturday night, October 1, 2011, Ayatollah Boroujerdi visited the prison clinic in Evin because of heart problems, but prison officials refused to provide medical care for him.Ayatollah Hossein Kazemeyni Boroujerdi is a prisoner of conscience whose pre-existing medical conditions have deteriorated since his arrest on October 8, 2006.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), last night, Ayatollah Boroujerdi complaining of chest pain visited the clinic in Evin Prison to seek medical care.The medical staff didn’t admit him into the clinic and asked for his immediate transfer to a hospital outside the prison.However, the prison officials have refused to comply with this request.
Ayatollah Boroujerdi suffers from heart problems and lacks the necessary balance to walk independently due to swelling of both feet.

Vahid Asghari was transferred to Solitary Confinement, banned of visiting and began hunger strike
HRANA News Agency – Vahid Asghari, Iranian imprisoned blogger in Ward 350 of Evin prison began hunger strike due to he was transferred to Solitary Confinement in Ward 240 and banned of visiting for three weeks by judge Salavati.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Vahid Asghari refused to defend himself and said he would not appeal the sentence, because he considered the court of first instance to be illegal and he must be in Handcuffs and shackles to be transferred to the court. So, his judge, Abolghasem Salavati at branch 15th of Tehran’s revolutionary court, issued 10 days in solitary confinement and three weeks ban of visiting for him. He said he will begin hunger strike in protest, while he was being transferred to solitary confinement.

Iranian Imprisoned Lawyer is being rejected for medical leave
HRANA News Agency – Abdolfattah Soltani, Iranian imprisoned lawyer, suffering from Sickle-cell disease is being rejected for medical leave by Judiciary authorities.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Abdolfattah Soltani, Iranian imprisoned lawyer, serving his 13 year in prison sentence and suffering from Sickle-cell disease, as Evin doctors says, must be allowed for medical leave to be examined and his cure out of prison.

Boroujerdi Suffers Heart Attack and Pulmonary Edema
Tehran, 1st October 2011– More than 5 years after Seyyed Hossein Kazemeini Boroujerdi was incarcerated for being a steadfast advocate of strict adherence to the United Nations Charter and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, he has suffered a severe heart attack, which has led to a pulmonary edema. Intelligence authorities have rejected all demands by Evin prison officials for him to be treated at a properly equipped medical facility.

Imprisoned Student, Ali Ajami, Beaten and Battered
HRANA News Agency – On the morning of June 22, 2011, for an unknown reason, the assistant warden of Rajai-Shahr Prison in Karaj beat and battered Ali Ajami in the prison’s medical clinic.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists for Democracy in Iran, Ali Ajami who is a leftist activist had gone to the prison hospital for medical care. While there, the Assistant Warden Khadem severely beat and battered Ali Ajami.
Once Ali Ajami returned to his prison cell in Ward 4, Hall 12, other prisoners having seen his bruises and injuries protested by demanding a public apology from the Assistant Warden Khadem.The prisoners also refused to accept their daily food rations.
The current assistant warden in Rajai-Shahr Prison is one of the known interrogators and torturers in this prison.In recent years, he has held various posts such as the director of ward 1, the director of prison’s intelligence agency and most recently the job of assistant warden at Rajai-Shahr Prison.
Some time ago, while two defenseless prisoners, Hussein Qazvini and Godarzi, were being held in isolation cells in Ward 1 of Rajai-Shahr Prison, the Assistant Warden Khadem tortured and beat them such that as a result, he broke their legs.
When the Assistant Warden Khadem was the director of intelligence agency in Rajai-Shahr Prison, he raped and impregnated a female officer.For this reason, he was fired from his job and transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison for a while.

Behnam Irani, Christian Prisoner in a Deteriorating Health Condition
HRANA News Agency – Behnam Irani, a Christian convert citizen in prison is in a deteriorating health condition and prison’s authorities deny his medical care.
According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Behnam Irani has blood infection , and he might be sent to a hospital for a surgery, that may remove part of his intestines, which are source of infection.

Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani Gives Coerced Televised Confession
HRANA- Last night, Iran State Television broadcasted an interview with Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani, who is under imminent risk of being stoned to death. In that interview she “confesses” to adultery and the murder of her husband. She also criticized her lawyer Mohammad Mostafaei for publicizing her case.
Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani’s appearance on television last night comes after a temporary stay in her stoning sentence and during a time when her case is surrounded in uncertainty.

Hiwa Bootimar Transferred to Solitary Confinement in Marivan Prison
HRANA – Kurdish political prisoner Hiwa Bootimar has been transferred to solitary confinement in Marivan prison.
According to reports received by HRANA, Hiwa Bootimar was taken to solitary confinement over a week ago and there was no news about the condition or whereabouts of this journalist and civic activist until his family were finally able to visit him yesterday.
Mr. Bootimar is currently serving an 8-year prison sentence in Marivan prison. He had previously been sentenced to execution twice by the Revolutionary Court of Marivan, but with the protests of his attorney, Mr. Saleh Nikbakht, these unjust sentences were reversed by the Supreme Court and reduced to 8 years in prison.
