Narges Mohammadi on Hunger Strike in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Narges Mohammadi, political prisoner in women’s ward of Evin prison, has gone on hunger strike in protest to denial of having telephone contact with her children. The imprisoned human rights activist needs to take medicine to control her diseases and to continue the hunger strike can be dangerous for her health.

“How Many Generations of our Children Are Going to Be Oppressed?”

HRANA News Agency – Fatemeh Musana, a former political prisoner in the 1980s, was arrested in 2011 again and along with her husband was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment. His three brothers were executed in the 1980s and while she was only 13 years old, she was in prison for 2 years along with her mother in the first decade of the Islamic Republic.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Fatemeh Musana, born on June 5, 1968, lost her father while she was 3 years old, she had one sister and four brothers (named Morteza, Ali, Asadollah and Mustafa). Officials Disagree with Narges Mohammadi’s Demand

HRANA News Agency – On July 1, the Deputy Prosecutor of Tehran told in the meeting with Narges Mohammadi, who has gone on hunger strike to protest to denial of telephone contact with her children that the security officials disagree with the phone call on. The imprisoned human rights activist need to take medicine to control diseases and continue the hunger strike will be unpleasant consequences.

Maryam Naghash Zargaran Returned to Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Maryam Naghash Zargaran (also known as Nasim), an imprisoned Christian convert, who had been released on medical leave, went back to Evin prison midway through her treatment as attorney general refused to extend her furlough and threatened to confiscate the bail collateral.

Maryam was granted medical leave on June 6, marking her 11th day of hunger strike. She was forced to interrupt her treatment and head back to Evin prison right after attorney general refused to extend her leave and threatened to confiscate the bail collateral of 3,500,000,000 IRR. Leila Abdi Nejad Released on the Bail

HRANA News Agency – Leila Abdi Nejad, Christian resident of Mehrshahr of Karaj who earlier had been reported to be held in ward 209 of Evin prison, was released on the bail of 2 billion IRR on June 26.

Maryam Naghash Zargaran’s Furlough Won’t be Extended

HRANA News Agency – On June 19, Tehran’s prosecutor’s office has refused the extended medical leave of Maryam Naghash Zargaran, former imprisoned Christian in women’s ward of Evin prison although she needs further treatments. By regard to this, she should show up in the prison soon.  Ms. Zargaran had been sent to medical leave after eleven days of hunger strike. She has written a letter in this regard and her status which was provided for HRANA.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on June 19, Tehran’s prosecutor’s office has refused to extend the medical leave of Maryam Naghash Zargaran who had been sent to medical furlough after eleven days of hunger strike on June 6. Roya Saberi Nobakht in Poor Conditions in Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Despite releasing five defendants of the so-called “Facebook activists’ case” on June 15, Ms. Roya Saberi Nobakht one of the defendants is keep in the women’s ward of Evin prison with poor health status, despite promises by the authorities to be released. Ms. Nobakht is suffering from an unknown disease but no serious action has been taken for her treatment so far.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Roya Saberi Nobakht, Iranian-British citizen is one of the nine social network activists who was arrested by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards after returning to the country in Shiraz in 2013. The 9 people were sentenced to 127 years imprisonment by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court on charges of “assembly and collusion against national security”, “propaganda against the system”, “insulting religious sanctities”, “insulting the supreme leader” and “insulting the people”. Najbeh Salehzadeh’s Court Session Held in Saqqez

All Correspondence from Women’s Ward of Evin Prison Prohibited

HRANA News Agency – According to a new order, all correspondence between prisoners in the women’s ward of Evin Prison and their families are prohibited. All prisoners’ furloughs have been canceled until further notice, too.
