HRANA News Agency – After reports of violent inspections and sever physical assaulting of the prisoners, Mohammad Mardani, the head of Rajai Shahr Prison of Karaj, in a directive requested the heads of wards in this prison to impose restrictions on buying and repairing electronics, visits, foods and books. These restrictions are imposed while the stores in this prison do not sell the essential food items such as red-meat, chicken, fish, fruits and vegetables, in other hand it is approximately a month that the prison’s bread maker machine is also broken. In respond to the prisoners’ complains, the prison authorities have ridiculed them by saying “This is prison and you are being punished, this is not a hotel”.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), based on the directive issued by the director of Rajai Shahr Prison Daryoush Amirian, and signed by the head of this Prison, Mohammad Mardani and given to the heads of the wards of this prison, there will be new restrictions imposed on the prisoners of this prison. Proxy Marriage, No Rings and a Black Veil; Story of Media Propaganda on the Prison Wedding
HRANA News Agency – 21st June this year, the propagandist news of the marriage of a prisoner in the Rajai Shahr Prison of Karaj made headlines in the Iranian media. The head of this Prison, Mohammad Mardani “joyously” expressed his hope for “the increase in such events”. However the reality of marriage in prison away from reporters and their cameras and propagandist media is quite different; “two and half months of hustles and bustles, insulting inspection, proxy marriage without exchange of the rings and strictly with black veil” are only a small corner of the shadow that leaves these new brides in the dark, yearning for a simple wedding.

Number of Executed Prisoners in Rajai Shahr Prison Rose to 11
HRANA News Agency – By revealing the fate of the other two prisoners who were transferred to solitary confinements and verification of their death sentences, the number of executed prisoners on September 28 in Karaj rose to 11. Accordingly, the three others prisoners of 14 prisoners who had been transferred to solitary confinements returned to their wards by the deadline or consent of the next of kin.

At Least 9 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – 9 prisoners with drug smuggling, armed robbery, and homicide charges were hanged in Rajaei Shahr prison.

Prison Guards Raid Different Wards of Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – By the order of Mohammad Mardani, head of Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj, anti-riot police of this prison, in an unusual inspection of some of the halls of ward 4, attempted to beat a large number of prisoners and destructed their properties. During the investigation which is said to be done in order to stop the reports of human rights violations from Rajai Shahr prison, TVs and even the walls of some of the cells were destroyed. There is no information about the fate of prisoners who have been beaten.

Head of Rajai Shahr Prison Calls for Expediting the Executions
HRANA News Agency – According to the documents that HRANA has obtained, Mohammad Mardani, head of Rajai Shahr prison, in the administrative correspondence related to the cases of several prisoners of death row, titled as “thugs”, has requested expedition of their execution.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), although the prisoners in Rajai Shahr prison in Karaj had already reported multiple violations of their rights by Rajai Shahr prison authorities and in particular Mohammad Mardani, head of the prison, Daryoush Amirian director and his deputy Mirzaee, including beating and provoking bloody clashes, but to prove his offenses including working with the prison mafia, beatings and misusing the power is difficult and sometimes impossible for the Human rights Organization, due to restrictions. Additional Information on the Latest Executions in Ghezel Hesar Prison
HRANA News Agency – 11 death row prisoners who had been transferred from different prisons to solitary confinements in Ghezelhesar prison were executed by hanging on July 17. Two of them were executed in public and 9 of these prisoners were executed in Ghezelhesar prison. 7 of them have been identified by HRANA so far.

At Least 6 Prisoners Executed in Rajai Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – At least six prisoners were executed on July 11, in Rajai Shahr prison mainly on charge of murder. The prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinements along with 5 to 7 other prisoners, on Sunday. 5 of the prisoners were returned to their wards and their sentences were not carried out after getting the consent or deadline to provide the blood money.

Pressures Grow on Political Prisoners in Rajaee Shahr Prison
HRANA News Agency – In the wake of the on-going persecution and restrictions on political prisoners of Rajaee Shahr prison in Karaj, at least ten prisoners were deprived of going to the clinic due to refusing to wear prison slippers. Some of these prisoners were deprived of weekly visits with the families for the same reason.
