12 Activists Tried in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – The trial of twelve civil rights activists, who had been arrested in front of Dena Tire building, was held in Branch 1044 of Tehran secondary Criminal Court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Zartusht (Esmail) Ahmad Ragheb, Davood (Hushang) Nemati, Hamed Goudarzi, Ali Ebrahimi, Zahra Sadat Ebrahimi, and seven civil rights activists (ladies), who had been arrested in front of Dena Tire building, on charges of “disturbing public order (in favor of Erfan Halgheh) were tried at Branch 1044 of Tehran secondary Criminal Court, on 8th March. 4 Social Netwerk Activists Arrested in Arak

HRANA News Agency – Four activists of social networks in Arak were arrested and imprisoned on political charges. According to informed sources, the four were detained because of writing critical contents in the “Line” communication network in October.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), The four (three men and a lady) were charged with insulting religious sanctities, insulting the Supreme Leader, and propaganda against the regime, because of  writing political and religious content. Qasim Exirifard Begins a Sit-In in front of Khajeh Nasir University

HRANA News Agency – Qasim Exirifard, professor of physics who has been banned from teaching because of having “a female voice”, has begun to re-sit-in protest in front of Khajeh Nasir University. He had a similar strike action in the spring of last year, but so far there has been no response from the authorities.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the professor sit in front of Khajeh Nasir University on Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm, according to previous announcement and said he would continue his protest in the coming days. 3 Artists Sentenced to Imprisonment and Fine by the Appeal Court of Tehran

HRANA News Agency – Three artists have been sentenced each to three years in prison, three years prohibition from activities and 20 million tomans fine by Branch 54 of the Tehran Appeals Court. According to informed sources the final sentence of the musicians Mehdi Rajabian and Yusef Emadi and filmmaker Hossein Rajabian, before delivering them, has been sent to the executive branch in Evin Court (Shahid Moghadasi Court).
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), each of the three artists had been sentenced to six years in prison in the first stage by Branch 28 of the Revolutionary Court presided by Judge Moghiseh, on charges of insulting religious sanctities and propaganda against the regime. Mohammad Mozaffari Summoned to the Revolutionary Court

HRANA News Agency – Mohammad Mozaffari, social and nationalist activist was summoned to Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court. This member of the National Front of Students and Graduates Organisation is free on the bail.

2 Civil Rights Activists Arrested in front of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency – Police arrested Mohammad Nourizad on the second day of his 24-hour-sit-in in front of Evin Prison, along with Davood Ne’mati. Davood Ne’mati has written that the police arrested and dropped them out in another place but Mohammad Nourizad returned and planned to spend the night in front of Evin prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Mohammad Nourizad civil rights activist, said earlier that he would run a twenty-four hour protest in front of Evin prison against the travel ban and holding his assets illegally by the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence. Amnesty International Calls for Quashing the Convictions of 3 Artists

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International has called for quashing the convictions including financial fines of the 3 convicted artists. Two musicians Mehdi Rajabian and Yousef Emadi, and a filmmaker Hossein Rajabian have been each sentenced to 6 years in prison and financial fines.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Amnesty International has called on the Iranian authorities to quash the convictions of Mehdi Rajabian, Hossein Rajabian and Yousef Emadi as they arise solely from the men’s peaceful exercise of their rights of freedom of expression and association through music and film. 2 Supporters of Mohammad Ali Taheri Arrested in Karaj

HRANA News Agency – Close sources to Halgheh theosophy said that two supporters of Mohammadali Taheri were arrested in Karaj and sent to Rajaei Shahr prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a close source to this group said that Masoud Mahdavian and Moslem Hemmati were arrested in Karaj while they were mounting posters in support of Mohammadali Taheri, and transferred to Rajaei Shahr prison. The Appeal Court Sentenced 4 Activists to Imprisonments

HRANA News Agency – Branch number 54 of the appeal court with chief judge Poorarab, has issued the verdict of 4 civil rights activist. According to this verdict, Arash Sadeghi has been sentenced to 15 years, Golrokh Irayi (Ibrahimi) to 6 years and Navid Kamran and Behnam Moosivand each to one year in prison. Mr. Sadeghi had 4 years and Behnam Moosivand have two years conditional sentences from their older cases.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Amir Raeisiyan, Arash Sadeghi and Golrokh Irayi’s lawyer, has confirmed this news and said that Arash Sadeghi had a conditional sentence of 4 years in prison which he will have to serve as well. Animal Rights Activists Arrested in Tehran

HRANA News Agency – A group of citizens gathered in front of Parliament in protest to the lack of proper laws to protect animals. The aggregation ended by police intervention, acts of violence, throwing tear gas and detention of a number of protesters.
