Blogger Rojin Mohammadi Under Increasing Pressure in Evin

HRANA News Agency – Imprisoned blogger and medical student, Rojin Mohammadi, is under increasing pressure in Evin Prison.On November 23, 2011, Rojin Mohammadi was arrested after returning to Iran.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Iranian authorities have charged Rojin Mohammadi with the crimes of propaganda against the regime and inciting public opinion by the means of human rights activism.Sources have reported that Rojin Mohammadi has been transferred to Ward 2A in Evin Prison.This ward is under the control of Army of the Guardians of the Islamic Revolution (IRGC).

Rojin Mohammadi was initially arrested on November 14, 2011 upon her arrival at Imam Khomeini Airport but and subsequently released after posting bail.Five days later, on November 19, 2011, security agents raided her father’s house in Kermanshah in order to arrest her again.However, since she was not home at the time of the raid, the police failed to take her into custody.

On November 21, 2011, Rojin Mohammadi was summoned by phone to Shahid Moghadasi Court in Evin Prison, and her personal belongings including a computer were confiscated.She was interrogated for 3 consecutive days and finally arrested again on November 23, 2011 and locked up behind bars in Evin Prison.

Baha’i Residents in Kata Village Arrested

HRANA News Agency – During the last three weeks, Iranian security forces have raided Baha’i residents’ houses in the village of Kata and arrested a large number of them.The village of Kata is situated in northwestern Iran at the outskirts of Yasuj, the capital of Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), during these raids, Iranian security officers have arrested a large number of Baha’i citizens without showing an arrest warrant.

It has been reported that a number of the detainee have been transferred to Shiraz while the whereabouts of the rest is unknown.

In the village of Kata, there are about fifty Baha’i families who are farmers living off the land.Since these families’ breadwinners have been arrested, their farmland and crops are left unattended and consequently being destroyed little by little.

Deadly Suicide Bomb Attacks Kill Innocent People in Baluchistan Province

HRANA News Agency reports that according to Press TV, the attack occurred in front of Imam Hussein Mosque in southeastern city of Chabahar when people gathered for a mourning ceremony on the religious occasion of Tasua. The Shia religious holiday was overshadowed by the suicide bombing that killed 41 people and injured several more. Although the rebel group Jundollah claimed responsibility for the deadly attack, Chief of Iran’s Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi accused the United States and Britain of involving in the attack, ISNA news agency reported.

Shiva Nazar Ahari Charged with Being a “Mohareb”

HRANA- Shiva Nazar Ahari’s mother reports that her daughter, a political prisoner in Iran, will be charged with being a “mohareb” or “waging war against God”.

Shahrzad Kariman told BBC Farsi on Wednesday that her daughter’s attorney Mohammad Sharif, has informed her that the charge of “mohareb” is in fact in her file.She stated that they were made aware of the accusation during her arraignment but did not believe that there was any evidence to justify such a charge thus they did not take it seriously.

Uncertainty About the Continued Detainment of Three Founders of a Cultural Association

HRA News Agency – After four months of detainment, three members of a cultural association, named Dr. Ebrahim Babayi, Mehdi Kouhan, and Mohsen SadeghiNoorare, are still being kept at Evin Prison under uncertain circumstances. According to the information received by HRANA reporters, after the public protests of December 27 of this year on the occasion of Ashura, 16 members of a cultural association, known as “The Children of the Great Iran,” were arrested in Tehran by the officials of the Ministry of Information and transferred to Evin Prison Division 209. The interrogators subjected them to beatings and mistreatment.

Gholamreza khosravi’s case will be considered again if he writes pardon request

HRANA News Agency – Authorities of Pardon and Forgivness Commission have told the family of Iranian political prisoner Gholamreza Khosravi Savadjani that his case will be considered again if he writes pardon request.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), when the family of Gholamreza khosravi Savadjani went to the Pardon and Forgivness Commission to know the result of their request for pardon, the authorities told them his case will be considered again if he writes pardon request.

Nine Political Prisoners on Hunger Strike in Yazd Prison

HRANA News Agency – On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, nine political prisoners in Yazd Prison began their hunger strike to protest against being locked up together with ordinary inmates and also the inappropriate behavior of prison officials towards political prisoners.
