2 Prisoners Receive New Imprisonment Sentences

HRANA News Agency – The one-year-imprisonment sentences of Farshid Fathi and Arash Moghadam, who were charged following the raid to ward number 350, known as Black Thursday, were confirmed by the appeal court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Farshid Fathi, imprisoned Christian priest and Arash Moghadam Aslan Poor were sentenced to 1 years of imprisonment by judge Salavat. The sentences have been confirmed by branch number 36 of court of appeal. These prisoners were charged with producing alcoholic beverage in prison which were found after the raid of prison guards to ward 350. Harassment Against Misagh Yazdan Nejad’s Family During the Visit

HRANA News Agency – Abuse and insult to the families of political prisoner, Misagh Yazdan Nejad, caused tension in Rajai Shahr prison’s visiting room.

Negar Haeri Transferred to Solitary Confinements of Ward 209 of Evin

HRANA News Agency – Negar Haeri, a political prisoner who had recently been summoned and detained, was transferred to ward 209 of Evin Prison.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Negar Haeri, civil activist and legal adviser, on Tuesday 19th May, was transferred to solitary confinement from the women’s ward in Evin prison for interrogation. Mohammad Mozaffari Transferred to Ward 8 of Evin Prison

HRANA News Agency- Mohammad Mozaffari, political activist, was transferred to ward 8 of Evin Prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), the imprisoned member of the students and graduates of the National Front, who was arrested in February this year, was transferred from ward 2A of the Revolutionary Guards to ward 8 in Evin Prison on Monday, 18th May. Mehdi Mo’tamedi Mehr Sent to Furlough

HRANA News Agency- Mehdi Mo’tamedi Mehr, political prisoner and member of the Political Bureau of Nehzat-e-Azadi, was sent on leave for five days.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Mehdi Mo’tamedi Mehr was sent on leave for five days from Rajai Shahr prison on Tuesday afternoon 19th May.
Mehdi Mo’tamedi Mehr was arrested for the first time in April 2009, under the pretext of having a role in the regulation and publicizing the statement of requesting international supervision on the presidential elections and released on bail after 45 days in solitary confinement, and the second time, after the events of Ashura in 2009 was arrested on charges of participating in the rally and after about two months, on 29 February of that year, he was released.
He eventually was sentenced to five years imprisonment in a closed, non-jury trial presided by Judge Moghiseh. He was charged with membership of the “Nehzat-e-Azadi”, “participating in gathering 2009 in Ashura” and “election campaign”. This sentence, after the objection was sent to the Court Branch 54, for reconsidering and the court verdict was literally approved.
This political activist was arrested again in March 2012 and was transferred to Rajai Shahr prison, in Karaj, to endure his imprisonment sentence.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), this imprisoned journalist’s sentence of six-year imprisonment is due to end on Thursday 21st May, but this journalist in addition to imprisonment and deprivation of journalism, has been sentenced to five years in exile in the city of Gonabad. Omid Alishenas and Aso Rostami Refused to Attend the Court Session

HRANA News Agency – Omid Alishenas and Aso Rostami, two political prisoners at Evin prison, were not sent to the court, as they refused to wear prison clothes.
