HRANA – At least six citizens have been arrested in Tehran Province. These individuals, who were detained in counties including Shahriar and Robat Karim, are facing accusations such as leading protests and sending war-related images to foreign media outlets.
According to Tasnim News Agency, at least six citizens were arrested in Tehran Province. The social deputy of the West Tehran Province Law Enforcement Command stated that four of these citizens were arrested in Robat Karim, adding: “They are among the elements linked to foreign-based networks and protest leaders in Robat Karim County.” He further claimed that a quantity of cold and firearms weapons was discovered from these citizens.
He also noted that one person was arrested in Andisheh, a city in Shahriar County, and had played a “central role” during the January 2026 protests.
The police official further stated that “public security police officers in western Tehran Province arrested another individual who had, by sending messages to Iran International, explicitly supported a U.S. military attack on Iran.”
The report does not provide further details regarding the identities of those arrested, the exact date and place of arrest, or where they are being held.
It is worth noting that gatherings and strikes by shopkeepers and bazaar merchants began in Tehran on Sunday, 28 December 2025, and after two days spread beyond markets and commercial centers. With the participation of students, ordinary citizens, and various social groups, these protests became one of the broadest protest waves in recent years. Following the crackdown by law enforcement and security forces, thousands were killed or injured, and tens of thousands more were arrested or summoned by security institutions.
