HRANA – At dawn on Monday, October 19, 2026, a prisoner who had previously been sentenced to death for non-political offenses was executed in Bandar Abbas Prison.

According to HRANA, one prisoner was executed in Bandar Abbas Prison. HRANA has identified the prisoner, who was hanged at dawn on Monday, October 19, as Hamid Mohammadi, a resident of Fasa.

According to information obtained by HRANA, Mr. Mohammadi had previously been arrested on non-political charges and subsequently sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

HRANA is investigating further details regarding the charges against the prisoner and the judicial proceedings in his case.

Between October 10, 2025, and October 8, 2026, HRANA documented at least 2,003 executions across Iran, based on 1,857 reports, representing an increase of approximately 29% compared to the previous reporting period.
