Three Inmates Executed in Rasht and Karaj

On December 15, 2022, three inmates convicted of murder and drug-related crimes were executed in Lakan Prison in Rasht and the Central Prison of Karaj.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on December 15, 2022, quoting Iran Human Rights Organization, Hassan Amini and Amir Abbasi were executed in Lakan Prison, Rasht, Gilan Province.

These individuals were previously sentenced to death for murder.

Also, an Afghan national identified as Reza Tajik convicted of drug-related crimes was executed in the Central Prison of Karaj.

 

Five Inmates Executed in Gorgan and Rasht

Recently, five prisoners convicted of murder were executed in Gorgan and Rasht Prisons.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Iran Human Rights Organization, on December 13, 2022, Payam Nourollahi, age 33, was executed in Gorgan Prison.

About three years ago, Nourollahi was accused and convicted of killing a Basij Militia force’s son over personal issues.

Also, the execution of two men in Rasht on November 17, 2021, has been reported. These individuals, identified as Abbas Abdollahi and Fariborz Shahbazi, were previously convicted of murder.

On December 1, 2022, two other inmates, Majid Mehdi-Pour and Masoud Effati were executed in Rasht.

None of the official sources and media outlets inside the country has reported these executions at the time of writing.

Five Inmates Executed in Arak Prison

On December 12, five inmates convicted of drug-related crimes were executed in Arak Prison.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, Arak prison officials executed five prisoners.

HRANA has identified three of these executed prisoners as Mohammad Imani, Ehsan Naseri and Mostafa Kashi. All these individuals were previously convicted of drug offences.

None of the official sources and media outlets inside the country has reported these executions at the time of writing.

 

Five Protestors Awaiting Looming Execution in the Central Prison of Karaj

Recently, the Karaj Revolutionary Court sentenced five people arrested at protests to death. These death-row prisoners, Mohammad-Mehdi Karami, Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini, Hamid Ghara-Hasanlu and Hossein Mohammadi, are currently jailed in the Central Prison of Karaj.

About incidents that happened during protests on the 40th day of Hadith Najafi’s death, these individuals were arrested and faced the charge of “spreading corruption on earth” and then sentenced to death.

Initially, the Judiciary mentioned eleven co-defendants in this legal case. Later, however, Mizan, Judiciary’s official media, mentioned 15 people. In the third court session, Hossein Mohammadi was added to the defendants, raising the number to 16.

During the trial, none of the defendants did not access to a private lawyer. They have been also reportedly tortured to confess and accept the charges.

 

Three Inmate Executed in Qazvin and Maku

On Monday, December 12, 2022, Qazvin prison officials carried out the execution of two inmates convicted of drug-related crimes. Also, an inmate convicted of murder was executed on December 8 in Maku, West Azerbaijan Province.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on December 8, an inmate identified by HRANA as Shayan Hassanpour (Hassanzadeh), age 23-24, was executed in Maku Prison.

Iran Human Rights Organization also reported that on December 12, two inmates, identified as Abbas Hosseini and Ali Seyyedkhani, were executed in Qazvin Prison.

These individuals, reportedly, were arrested and sentenced to death three years ago. They were executed despite the court’s promise that their execution would not be carried out.

Detained Protestor Majid-Reza Rahnavard Executed Publicly in Mashhad

On December 12, Majid-Reza Rahnavard was executed in public in Mashhad. Recently, the Mashhad Revolutionary Court sentenced Majid-Reza Rahnavard, arrested at protests, to death on the charge of “enmity against God.”

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, Majid-Reza Rahnavard, age 23, was executed in Mashhad.

An informed source told HRANA the court had already determined his guilt, and he was not allowed to defend himself. Rahnavard’s trial began only ten days after his arrest.

Rahnavard has been accused of killing two Basij militia forces in Mashhad during protests. Nonetheless, the assailant’s face cannot be identified by any CCTV cameras that captured the scene.

Earlier, pro-government mobs assaulted his family’s apartment and broke doors and windows to terrorize his family.

 

Iran Protests: Mohsen Shekari Executed over Protests

Iran’s Judiciary announced the execution of Mohsen Shekari, one of the people arrested at recent protests, on Thursday morning, December 8, 2022.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Mizan News Agency, on December 8, 2022, Mohsen Shekari was executed in Tehran.

Shekari was arrested at protests in Sattar Khan street in Tehran.
On November 1, 2022, the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced Shekari to death on the charge of “enmity against God, terrorizing people, injuring a Basij Militia force with a cold weapon, and disturbing public order by blocking the street.”

Subsequently, this verdict was confirmed by the Supreme Court of Iran.

 

Two Inmates Executed in Yasuj and Shiraz

On December 4, 2022, two inmates were executed in Yasuj and Shiraz prisons.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Iran Human Rights Organization, on December 4, 2022, two inmates identified as Heydar Hassani Maram and Hojjat Seifpanah were executed in Yasuj and Shiraz prisons, respectively.

Hassani was arrested and accused of drug offences and then sentenced to death four years ago.

Seifpanah was sentenced to death for killing his employer during a financial dispute.

Two Inmates Executed in Bandar Abbas and Ilam Prisons

On November 30, 2022, Bandar Abbas Prison officials executed an inmate convicted of drug-related crimes.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Haal Vsh, on November 30, 2022, an inmate identified as Parviz Barahooi, a resident of Zahedan, was executed in Bandar Abbas Prison.

In 2017, the Revolutionary Court of Bandar Abbas sentenced Barahooi to death for drug offences.

Also, Kurdpa reported the execution of Mehdi Lotfi in Ilam Prison on November 23, 2022. He was previously convicted of murder.
 
None of the official sources and media outlets inside the country has reported these executions.

Nine Inmates Executed in Different Prisons

In recent days, nine inmates convicted of murder or drug-related crimes were executed in Kashan, Zahedan, Mashhad, Isfahan, Iranshahr and Hamedan.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, on November 28, an inmate identified by his last name as Turkzadeh was executed in Hamedan Prison. He was previously convicted of murder.

Haal Vsh news outlet reported the execution of two inmates Abdolnabi Mazar-Zehi and Mohammad-Amin Omar-Zehi in Zahedan Prison. Both were convicted of drug-related crimes.

Haal Vsh also reported the execution of Mohammad-Omar Khameh in Mashhad and Abdollah Salahzehi in Iranshahr. Both were convicted of murder.

According to Iran Human Rights Organization, on November 26, an inmate identified as Keyhan Shaker-Panahi in Kashan and three inmates in Isfahan, of which two have been identified as Hossein Kheirollahi and Saheb Rasouli, were executed.
