Lack of anesthetics and shutting down the operation rooms in Iran

HRANA News Agency – The head of anesthesia and urgent cares of Iran warned seriously about lack of anesthetic in Iran and said “because of lack of anesthetic for operation rooms some of private and governmental hospitals in Tehran are in danger of shutting down.”
according to Mehr news report, Dr. Mohammad Mehdi Qiamat claimed that “the latest follow ups showing that most of hospitals and medical centers are in danger of lack of anesthetics in Iran.”

“With all of our warnings in the past but the officials did negligence around this issue. while this is clear that in Nowrooz holidays only urgent case would be able to enter operation rooms and the others will be in uncertain situation”, One of board members of medical council of Tehran added.

The head of anesthesia and urgent cares of Iran repeated that the operation rooms could not be closed because of lack of anesthetics and said “the old versions of anesthetics which have not used before, now came back to the circle of anesthetics which could be an alarm on patients health.

“We warned the officials many time about the issue of lacking of anesthetics in hospitals and medical centers but the officials are still slept and for sure the patients will pay for the negligence”, The member of board members of medical council of Tehran said.

Five labor activists arrested in Sanandaj

HRANA News Agency – On Thursday March 7th of 2013 five of labor activists arrested in Sanandaj.

According to a report of coordinating committee to help form workers’ organization website, on Thursday around 6 O’clock five of the labor activists and members of coordinating committee were arrested at their homes through invasion of Sanandaj Etela’at agents.

Labor activist allowed furlough, ends prison hunger strike

HRANA News Agency – Iranian labor activist Reza Shahabi was given a five-day medical leave by Evin Prison authorities and has ended his hunger strike after 23 days.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the executive member of the Tehran transit drivers union was released late on the night of Monday January 7.

Reza Shahabi, Iranian Imprisoned Labor Activist in Deteriorating Condition Due to Hunger Strike

HRANA News Agency – Last night, Reza Shahabi, an Iranian labor leader imprisoned since June 2010, was transferred to prison’s hospital due to low blood pressure. He  went on hunger strike on 17 Dec 2012 to protest against mistreatment by jail guards as well as prevention of his medical treatment by the judicial authorities. He Also refused medical treatment.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Reza Shahabi’s physical conditions have deteriorated. He has announced that he will refuse taking his medication and eating food until he is allowed to be transferred to a hospital outside prison for complete treatment.

HRANA News Agency – Behnam (As’ad) Ebrahimzadeh, imprisoned labor activist in Ward 350 of Evin Prison was transferred to Solitary Confinement in Ward 240.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Behnam (As’ad) Ebrahimzadeh, imprisoned labor activist in Ward 350 of Evin Prison was transferred to Solitary Confinement in Ward 240 on Tuesday, December 18, 2012.

There is no information about the reason of his transformation to solitary confinement.

Labor activist, Pedram Nasrollahi, was sentenced to 19 months in prison by the appeals court

HRANA News Agency – Labor activist, Pedram Nasrollahi, was sentenced to 19 months in prison by the appeals court of Sanandaj, Iran.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Pedram Nasrollahi who was arrested on Thursday, March 8, 2012. He had been interrogated for 48 days then was released on 700 million Rls bail. Nasrollahi was sentenced to three years in prison on charges of “propagating against the regime in favor of an opposition group” and “membership in the Coordinating Committee to Help Form Workers’ organizations in the primary court. He objected the verdict and finally was sentenced to 19 months in prison by the appeals court of Sanandaj.

Human Rights violations in Iran Yearly Statistical – Special Year 2011

In a prediction report, it contains Statistical Data (2010-2011) of Human Rights violations in Iran. The statistical basis of this report, that has been prepared, will provide analytical, statistical efforts of institution, and the publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran.

Certainly, due to the Iranian government not allowing human rights defenders to work properly in reporting Human Rights violations and preventing the free flow of information, it does not recognizes the independence of the civil activities, and at the moment, reporting these issues are something with many limitations, difficulty and dangerous in Iran.

Obviously, in such situation for Human Rights defenders, despite great difficulties, only a very small volume of human Rights violations are being monitored, researched and documented in relation to media reports, and finding other groups. However with regards to the restrictions, we can» t deny the analytical error of the content, but the Human Rights entity have known the statistical content and analysis repots with %3 margin of error, rare in its own kind.

As in the first section of the report, it is necessary to notice the human Rights group activities and effort in Iran to improve the reporting of human Rights violations, however, statistics can make dramatic differences in terms of the reports focused on the center of the country compared to other parts of the country as one of the weaknesses of Iran «s civil society entities.

Laid Off Textile Worker Threw Shoes at Ahmadinejad

HRANA News Agency – During a ceremony held to honor Ali Kerdan, Iran’s former Secretary of State, a group of workers from Mazandaran Textile Company interrupted  the gathering before hurling a shoe at President Ahmadinejad.

A laid off worker identified as Rashid Sh. managed to reach the front row and threw a shoe at President Ahmadinejad before shouting in protest against problems faced by Iranian workers.

Rashid Sh. was then wrestled to the ground by security personnel and hauled away.  It has been reported that Rashid Sh. also threw eggs at Iran’s former President Mohammad Khatami while he was in office.
