Three Executions Postponed In Bandar Abbas

HRANA News Agency – Three death–row prisoners who were taken to solitary confinement to be sent to execution chamber were given extra time by the families of the victims. These three prisoners were sent back to their Wards after the families consent to postpone their execution.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA),  on Tuesday 09 September, 2014 three death-row prisoners ( two from the Youth Ward and 1 from Ward 4)  were transferred to solitary confinement cells to be prepared for execution. However, they were sent back to their wards after the families of victims agreed to provide them with a time extension. One year in prison for a Khomaini-Shahr citizen

HRANA News Agency – Mahmood Soroosh who is a baker, has been sentenced to one year in prison for being active in social media.

At least 2 prisoners executed at Rajai Shahr Prison

HRANA News Agency – While it is believed that at least 22 prisoners were transferred to Rajai Shahr prison for death penalty, however, only execution of just two of them (one female and one male), has been verified by HRANA. There is still no information about the fate of the other prisoners.

A Kurdish political activist sentenced to 7 years in prison

HRANA News Agency – Badi Hoseinpanahi, political activists held in Bandar Lengeh prison by the Revolutionary Court, has been sentenced to 7 years in prison.

A Kurdish civilian was shot by police forces

HRANA News Agency – A native Kurdish “carrier” of the village “Byzhveh” environ of Sardasht was injured with a direct hit of the police shoot on September 9th.

Shadan Shirazi, with top university entry grades, denied admission

HRANA News Agency – Shadan Shirazi, a math student with top tier ranks in her entrance exams was denied admission to university because of her religious beliefs in Baha’i faith.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), a decision of Iran’s Supreme Council of Culture and Revolution effectively calls for the exclusion of members of Baha’i faith from employment and opportunities for higher education. Imprisoned Sunni scholar prevented from calling family in past weeks

HRANA News Agency – Shaykh Mohammad Fathi Naghshbandi, a Sunni scholar imprisoned in Iran, has been forbidden from calling his family for the past two weeks.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), Shaykh Naghshbandi, currently imprisoned in the Quarantine Section 12 of Zahedan Central prison, has been unable to speak to any of his family members for the past two weeks, after officials refused to give him permission to make telephone calls. 50% increase in the executions during recent 2 weeks

HRANA News Agency – The Statistics and Publication Unit of human rights Activists in Iran has publicized a Comparative report on the executions in Iran in the first half of “Shahrivar” ( 23rd August- 6th September) this year, against the statistics  of executions in the previous month and also same time last year. Finally, they have announced a fifty percent of growth in the executions.
