Five Citizens from Zabol Arrested in Bardaskan

HRANA News Agency –On Wednesday, May 28, five citizens from Zabol were arrested by police forces in Bardaskan County and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, quoting Haal Vsh, the identities of those detained are as follows:

Reza Javadi, 26, married with one child

Younes Arbabi, 27, married with two children

Mohammadsayyad Arbabi

Sajjad Larijani

Majid Arbabi

The group, traveling in two vehicles from Zabol toward Mashhad, was stopped and arrested in Bardaskan by law enforcement officers without the presentation of a judicial warrant.

As of the time of this report, the reasons for their arrest and any charges against them remain unknown.

Five Prisoners Executed in Yazd Prison

HRANA News Agency – On Wednesday, May 21, the death sentences of five prisoners previously convicted on charges related to drug offenses and murder were carried out in Yazd Prison.

Their identities have been confirmed by HRANA as: Nourweis Achkizahi from Zabol, Javad Rezaei, Reza Beigi, Vali Shahrbabaki, and Mohammadreza Dehghan Dehnouri, 38 years old.

Based on information obtained by HRANA, Mr. Achkizehi had been arrested six years ago and Mr. Beigi at an earlier date, both on drug-related charges, and were sentenced to death. Mr. Rezaei and Mr. Shahrbabaki had been detained five years ago, and Mr. Dehghan Dehnouri earlier, all on murder charges in separate cases, and were also sentenced to death.

As of the time of this report, the execution of these individuals has not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

In 2024, according to 812 reports compiled by HRANA, the Iranian regime executed 930 individuals in its prisons—marking the highest number of executions in the past 12 years. Despite the scale of these executions, prison officials and other relevant authorities publicly acknowledged only 6% of them, highlighting the regime’s lack of transparency and accountability.

HRANA News Agency – At dawn yesterday, May 15, the death sentences of two prisoners previously convicted of murder were carried out in Zabol Prison.

HRANA has identified the individuals as Reza Dahmardeh, approximately 24 years old, the resident of a village in Zabol County, and Abdullah (last name unknown), a citizen of Afghanistan.

The two had been arrested in separate cases on murder charges and later sentenced to death by criminal courts.

As of the time of this report, prison and judicial authorities have not publicly announced the executions.

Two Prisoners Executed in Zahedan Prison

HRANA News Agency – On Sunday, May 11, the death sentences of two prisoners previously convicted of murder in separate cases were carried out in Zahedan Prison.

According to Haal Vsh, the identities of the executed prisoners have been confirmed as Fereydoun Mohammadi, approximately 36 years old, a resident of a village in Fanuj County, and Mohammad-Ali Miri (Mir-Baluchzahi), 48 years old, a resident of Zabol.

According to the report, Fereydoun Mohammadi was arrested around seven years ago on charges of murder and was later sentenced to death by the judiciary. He had previously been transferred from Chabahar Prison to Zahedan Prison for the execution of his sentence.

Mohammad-Ali Miri was arrested in 2019 (1398 in the Iranian calendar) on charges of murder during a group altercation in Zabol and was also sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time this report was prepared, the execution of these prisoners has not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

Seven Prisoners Executed in Zahedan Prison

HRANA News Agency – The death sentences of seven prisoners previously convicted on drug-related charges and murder were carried out in Zahedan Prison.

According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, at dawn on Saturday, March 1, 2025, seven prisoners, including two Afghan nationals, were executed in Zahedan Prison.

The identities of the executed prisoners have been reported as:

  • Basir Roudini, 31, from Zahedan
  • Farhad Dahmardeh, 46, father of four, from Zabol
  • Musa Pahang, 43, father of two, from Zahedan
  • Ghasem Ghanbar-Dezaki, 39, father of one, from Mirjaveh
  • Morad Sabero (Badpa), 40,
  • Sa’adullah Zarei, 28, from Afghanistan
  • Asim Charikar, 30, from Afghanistan

According to this report, Sabero (Badpa) and Roudini were arrested in 2021 on murder charges and later sentenced to death by the judiciary.

The other five prisoners—Ghanbar-Dezakiand Dahmardeh (arrested in 2020), Pahang (arrested in 2019), and Zarei and Charikar (arrested in 2022)—had been sentenced to death for drug-related offenses.

As of the time of this report, prison and judicial authorities have not officially announced these executions.

In 2024, the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran documented 812 cases related to the right to life, including the sentencing of 214 individuals to death and the execution of 930 individuals. Among these, 4 executions were carried out in public. Of those executed, 818 were male, 26 were female, and 5 were juvenile offenders—individuals under 18 years old at the time of their alleged crimes.

Four Prisoners Executed in Yazd Prison

HRANA News Agency – on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, four prisoners previously sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses were executed in Yazd Prison.

Haal Vsh has identified one of the prisoners as Ahmad Sasouli, approximately 28 years old and the father of one child, from and residing a village in Zabol County, Sistan and Baluchestan province.

Per the report, Mr. Sasouli was arrested five years ago in Ardakan, on drug-related charges. After a period of uncertainty, he was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Ardakan.

On Monday, January 20, he was transferred from Ardakan Prison to the quarantine section of Yazd Central Prison in preparation for his execution. His execution was carried out without a final visit with his family.

The identities and charges of the three other prisoners executed today have not been disclosed in the report.

As of the time of this report, prison authorities and relevant officials have not publicly announced the executions.
According to data compiled by HRANA, 52.69% of all executions in Iran in 2024 were related to drug-related charges. Four Prisoners Executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison, Including a Juvenile Offender

Early this morning, November 27, four prisoners previously convicted of murder were executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. One of them, Reza Shirzahi, was only 17 years old at the time of the crime in 2020.

The identities of two of the executed prisoners have been confirmed as Reza Shirzahi, a resident of Pakdasht originally from Zabol, and Hamed Pakdel.

Reza Shirzahi, aged around 21, was accused of killing a friend during an altercation in 2020. He was arrested that same year, tried in a criminal court, and sentenced to death—a verdict later upheld by the Supreme Court. At the time of his arrest, He was only 17 years old. After spending time in Khorin Prison, he was transferred first to Rajai Shahr Prison and then to Ghezel Hesar Prison, where the execution was carried out. The published photo in this report is of Reza.

The identities of the other two executed prisoners remain unknown, and HRANA is continuing its investigation to confirm their details.

It is worth noting that as of the time of this report, prison authorities and responsible institutions have not officially announced the executions.

According to latest HRANA’s annual report over between October 10, 2023, and October 8, 2024, at least 811 individuals were executed by hanging in Iran, rising to 23.06% compared to the same period last year. Of these executions, four were carried out in public. Many of the defendants were denied a fair trial.

Two Prisoners Executed in Zahedan and Ghezel Hesar Prisons

Two prisoners previously sentenced to death in separate cases involving drug-related charges and murder were executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj and Zahedan Prison.

According to Haal Vsh, on the morning of Sunday, November 10, 2024, an Afghan national was hanged in Zahedan Prison. His identity has been confirmed as Mohammad-Nabi Papal Zehi, approximately 28 years old, married, and a resident of Zabol.

He was arrested two years ago in connection with drug-related charges in Zahedan and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of the city. He had been transferred to solitary confinement a day before the execution and was allowed a final meeting with his family.

According to Kurdpa, separately, on Wednesday, November 6, another prisoner, identified as Mojtaba Ghasemi, a resident of a village in Harsin County, was executed in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

Mr. Ghasemi was arrested approximately four years ago on murder charges and sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

Both executions have not been publicly announced by prison officials or responsible institutions as of this report.

Notably, HRANA had previously reported the execution of eight other prisoners in Ghezel Hesar Prison on Wednesday, November 6.

Prisoner Executed in Zahedan Prison for Drug-Related Crimes

Today, September 26, the execution of a prisoner previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges was carried out in Zahedan Prison, according to a report by Haal Vsh.

The execution took place at dawn on Thursday, September 26, 2024. The identity of the executed individual has been reported as Amanollah Nohtani, 41 years old, married, and the father of five children, from Zabol.

Mr. Nohtani was arrested five years ago on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Zabol. In November 2023, he was transferred from Zabol Prison to Zahedan Prison and was moved to quarantine on Tuesday in preparation for his execution.

As of the time of this report, the execution has not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

Prisoner Executed in Yazd Prison for Drug Offenses

At dawn September 19, the death sentence of a prisoner previously convicted on drug-related charges was carried out in Yazd Prison, according to a report by Haal Vsh.

The individual has been identified as “Manan Brahui (Barahouei)(Nasim Narui), approximately 50 years old, married, a resident of Zabol.”

According to this report, Mr. Brahui was arrested in 2019 on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Yazd. On Tuesday, he was transferred to the quarantine section of Yazd Prison to await the execution of his sentence.

As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.
