HRANA News Agency – The video footage that you can watch here shows the last farewell of Farzad Tahai and Amin Babai, two prisoners who were executed on June 1st in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj. HRANA published this footage to draw the attentions to the matter of death penalty and precisely to the execution of prisoners with drug related charges in Iran.
During the recent months the rate of the mass executions and sometimes public executions has increased although the Iranian officials had told that they were going to consider the matter of eliminating death penalty on drug related charges in a bill in the parliament in April. HRANA News Agency – 12 Prisoners have been hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison of Karaj and one of the death row prisoners died after a heart attack in solitary confinement.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), these 13 prisoners had been transferred to solitary confinements on May 30th. 12 of them were hanged on June 1st but a prisoner identified as Mohammad Mirnejad died after having a heart attack in solitary confinement. HRANA News Agency – 4 Prisoners have been hanged in Uremia.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Ardalan Rahdar, Mohammad Rashid Rahdar, Habib Rahdar and Shirzad Rashidi are the 4 prisoners who have been hanged in the Central Prison of Uremia on Monday, June 1st.
3 of these prisoners were cousins and all were charged with drug trafficking. They had been transferred to solitary confinements the day before.
The authorities have not announced the report of these executions yet.
