Court Rejects Complaint of Several Bahai Students

HRANA News Agency – Following the announcement of results from Iran’s national secondary school graduation exam for this academic year, many Bahai youth who achieved good marks, sufficient for entry even to the best of the state-controlled universities, found they were rejected from university due to “defects in the file.”

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), some of these students filed a legal complaint, which after overcoming various obstacles was actually received and considered by a branch of the Administrative Court. Manuchher Khalousi Sentenced: Six Years for Being a Bahai

HRANA News Agency – The Revolutionary Court in the city of Mashhad has sentenced Manuchher Khalousi to six years in prison for his Bahai beliefs.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), the charges against him were “propaganda against the regime” or “acting against national security,” although the evidence cited does not support either charge: it focuses simply on proving that he is a Bahai. Two Bahais Begin their Sentences in Arak and Kerman

HRANA News Agency – On January 31, Navid Haqiqi and Shahram Falah reported to prisons in Arak and Kerman, respectively, to begin serving 3-year sentences for their faith.

According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), in August 2012, 20 Bahais were arrested in central Iran: 10 in Yazd and Isfahan and 10 others in towns and cities such as Shahin Shahr, Vila Shahr, Arak and Kerman. Peyman Mirzaee still in Custody

HRANA News Agency – The case of Peyman Mirzaee is being reviewed at Branch 3 of Shahid Moqaddasi Court and he is refused to get temporarily release on a bail.

Erfane Halghe Instructors Received 37 Years Imprisonment Sentence

HRANA News Agency – 16 instructors of “Erfane Halghe” (Interuniversalism Mysticism) have been sentenced to 37 years imprisonment and to pay 130 million Toman fine.

According to HRANA based on the report of Fars News Agency, 40 instructors of Erfane Halghe who held teaching sessions of “Erfane Halghe” have been arrested and 16 of them charged, prosecuted and sentenced. These 16 individuals were instructors (Master) of Erfane Halghe, who held teaching sessions after Mohammad Ali Taheri was arrested. Three Bahais in Tonekabon Arrested: Trials Imminent

HRANA News Agency – On February 3, three Bahai men living in the city of Tonekabon, in Iran’s Mazandaran province, were summoned to the court in Tonekabon, charged and arrested, as their trials are about to begin.

Ministry of Intelligence Pressures Muslims of Rasht to Cut Ties with Bahais

HRANA News Agency – In the past two months over 20 Muslim residents of the city of Rasht, in Northern Iran, have been summoned and threatened by the Ministry of Intelligence because of their relationships with Bahais.

HRANA News Agency – Peyman Mirzaei , one of Erfane Halgheh followers who has been arrested since Tuesday gathering close to the Human Rights Council building is still kept at an unknown location .

One Person Arrested in Attacks on the Gathering of Mohammad Ali Taheri’s Followers

HRANA News Agency – On Tuesday 27 January, several followers of Erfane Halgheh and Tehrani Citizens attempted to form a gathering in Esfandiar Street – in front of the Human Rights Council of Judiciary – to show their concerns about Mohammad Ali Taheri and lack of information about his situation. However, they were confronted by police and security forces.
