January 2026 Protests: Mani Partani Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison

HRANA – Mani Partani, arrested during the January 2026 protests and currently held in Bojnurd Prison, has been sentenced by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of this city to a total of eight years in prison.

According to HRANA, Mani Partani has been sentenced to imprisonment.

Based on information received by HRANA, Mr. Partani’s sentence was issued last week by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of Bojnurd and subsequently communicated to him. Under the ruling, he was sentenced to a total of eight years in prison on charges of “propaganda against the regime,” “insulting the Supreme Leader,” and “assembly and collusion.”

He is currently being held in Bojnurd Prison, where the principle of separation of prisoners based on the nature of their offenses is not being observed, and he is housed alongside prisoners convicted of non-political offenses.

Mr. Partani was arrested by security forces in Bojnurd during the January 2026 protests.

It should be noted that protests and strikes by shopkeepers and bazaar merchants began in Tehran on Sunday, December 28, 2025, and within two days spread beyond markets and commercial centers.
