Nationwide Protests: 247 Citizens Arrested in Various Cities

HRANA – The General Directorate of Intelligence of Yazd and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari provinces, in two separate statements, announced the arrest of 188 and 85 citizens respectively in connection with the nationwide protests of January 2026. Meanwhile, Mahmoud Heydarian, an art teacher at schools in Bojnord, was arrested on January 10 during nationwide protests in the city of Ashkhaneh and has recently been transferred to Bojnord Prison.

According to Etemad Online, the Intelligence Department of Yazd Province announced that so far 188 individuals identified as the main activists in the January protests, more than 70 of whom were described as “street leaders and primary saboteurs involved in setting fire to public places and government offices”—have been identified, arrested, and had judicial cases opened against them.

According to Nournnews, in a separate report, the General Directorate of Intelligence of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province also announced the identification and arrest of more than 85 citizens in connection with the nationwide January protests. In a statement, this security body described these individuals as leaders of the protests in the province.

Additionally, in another report, the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations announced that Mahmoud Heydarian, an art teacher in Bojnurd, was arrested by Intelligence Ministry agents at his home in the city of Ashkhaneh around midnight on January 10, during the nationwide protests. According to the council, after undergoing interrogation at the provincial intelligence office, he was transferred to Bojnurd Prison.

At Least Eight Prisoners Executed in Iran on December 11

HRANA – Yesterday, Thursday, December 11, at least eight more prisoners were executed in Iran on charges of murder and drug-related offenses. In addition, the execution of two other prisoners was reported on Wednesday, December 10.

On this day, HRANA reported the execution of the following individuals:

Ali Shamloo, on drug-related charges, in Bojnurd Prison;

Kavian (first name only, last name unknown), on a murder charge, in Bukan Prison;

Kabir Mahmoudvand, on a murder charge, in Mahshahr Prison;

Yaser Jahantigh, on a murder charge, in Sari Prison;

Mohammad Ghahramani, on a murder charge, in Ferdows Prison;

Sasan Sheikhi, on a murder charge, in Behbahan Prison.

Additionally, two prisoners were executed in Taybad Prison on drug-related charges. HRANA has identified one of them as Manouchehr Navabi.

Furthermore, on Wednesday, December 10, the execution of two prisoners in Lakan Prison in Rasht was reported by the Iran Human Rights. The identities of these prisoners were reported as Mehrdad Rezaei, 31 years old, from the village of Chaperpard in Rasht County, and Saeed Khoshkalam, 27 years old, from Karaj. Mehrdad Rezaei was arrested four years ago and Saeed Khoshkalam three years ago in separate cases on drug-related charges and were subsequently sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

As of the time of this report, the executions of these prisoners have not been officially announced by prison officials or relevant authorities.

Two Prisoners Executed in Bojnurd Prison

HRANA – At dawn today, Wednesday, the death sentences of two prisoners previously convicted on drug-related charges were carried out in Bojnurd Prison.

HRANA has confirmed the identity of one of them as Ezzatollah Nashri. Based on information received by HRANA, these individuals had earlier been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

Further details, including the identity of the second executed prisoner, are still under review by HRANA.

As of the time of preparing this report, the executions have not been announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

From the beginning of this year until the end of October, the Iranian regime has executed 1,286 people, marking an unprecedented increase compared to previous years.
