Hundreds of Cases Opened and Indictments Issued in Connection with Two Recent Wars

HRANA – The spokesperson for Iran’s Judiciary announced that 476 cases have been opened and 163 indictments issued in connection with the two recent wars. He also stated that 250 cases involving 1,895 defendants have been opened on charges of collaborating with Israel and hostile countries, with 70 indictments issued to date.

According to HRANA, citing Mizan, Judiciary spokesperson Seyed Ali Kazemi said during a press conference addressing the latest status of cases related to what he described as “actions against the country’s security and national interests” that 476 cases have so far been opened in connection with the two recent wars.

Kazemi added that proceedings in these cases are ongoing in prosecutors’ offices and courts, and that additional cases are being opened as new complaints are filed.

He continued: “So far, 163 indictments have also been issued in connection with these two wars.” In another part of his remarks, addressing cases involving allegations of collaboration with Israel and hostile countries, Kazemi said: “In this regard, 250 cases have been opened, involving 1,895 defendants.”

According to Kazemi, 94 of the defendants are media workers, while 1,801 are private individuals. The Judiciary spokesperson also announced that 70 indictments have so far been issued in connection with these individuals.

He further reported that assets have been seized in connection with these cases. However, he provided no additional information regarding the identities of the defendants, the type or value of the seized assets, or details of the charges brought against them.

HRANA previously reported on March 28, 2026, that indictments had been issued for a number of individuals arrested in connection with the war and that their cases had been referred to court. At the time, comprehensive details regarding the number of defendants and the status of all the cases had not been released.
