At Least 103 Citizens Arrested in Various Cities

HRANA  – Official media outlets have reported the arrest of one individual in Bandar Anzali, 100 citizens in Ardabil, and two individuals in Masjed Soleyman in connection with protests.

Based on this report, the arrests were carried out in connection with the protests by the IRGC Intelligence of Ardabil Province.

In another report, this media outlet, quoting the police commander of Bandar Anzali County, announced that one protester was arrested in the city. The individual was accused of involvement in the destruction of one of the chain stores and the courthouse building during recent protests in the county.

Additionally, Young Journalists Club reported the arrest of two individuals in Masjed Soleyman. According to this report, the detainees were accused of carrying out sabotage activities. It was also claimed that explosive materials and a firearm were discovered and confiscated from them.

These reports did not provide any information regarding the identities of the individuals or their place of detention.

It should be noted that gatherings and strikes by shopkeepers and bazaar merchants began in Tehran on December 28, 2022, and after two days spread beyond bazaars and commercial centers. Aria Sheikhi-Nasab and Erfan Esfandiari Arrested by Security Forces

HRANA – In connection with the recent protests, Aria Sheikhi-Nasab was arrested in Masjed Soleyman, and Erfan Esfandiari, a 17-year-old teenager, was arrested in Isfahan.

Based on information received by HRANA, Mr. Sheikhi-Nasab was arrested on January 25 by security agents at his private residence in Masjed Soleyman. Meanwhile, Erfan Esfandiari, a 17-year-old teenager, was arrested on January 18, with the use of violence by security forces.

As of the time of this report, no information has been obtained regarding the place of detention or the charges brought against these two citizens.

Aria Sheikhi-Nasab, 29, is a resident of Masjed Soleyman. He has a prior history of arrest by security forces.

Legal Uncertainty for Four Political Detainees in Masjed Soleyman

HRANA News Agency – Karim Jalili, Moslem Alipour, Ali Soltani, and Hajat (also referred to as Hojjat) Susani, political defendants involved in a shared case, have been held in legal limbo for over 50 days in Masjed Soleyman Prison.

HRANA has learned that Branch 2 of the Masjed Soleyman Prosecutor’s Office has formally charged the four individuals, who share a joint case file, with offenses including “propaganda against the regime” and “insulting officials.”

A source close to the family of one of the defendants confirmed the report and told HRANA: “Their case has been transferred to the Dezful County Judiciary, but the presiding court branch has yet to be determined. They’ve been told that the court branch and hearing date will be set this week or next. According to officials, the hearing will be held remotely due to their detention in Masjed Soleyman Prison.”

Moslem Alipour was arrested by security forces in Masjed Soleyman on March 10, 2025. Hajat Susani was detained the following day, and Karim Jalili and Ali Soltani were arrested separately on March 12, all in the same city. Following their arrests, all four were transferred to Masjed Soleyman Prison.

Karim Jalili is 40 years old, Ali Soltani is 23, and both Moslem Alipour and Hajjat Sousani are also residents of Masjed Soleyman.

Mehdi Eydi Vandi Arrested and Transferred to Prison in Masjed Soleyman

HRANA News Agency – Mehdi Eydi Vandi, a resident of Masjed Soleyman, was arrested by security forces on March 18, 2025, and is currently held in limbo at the city’s prison.

Based on information received by HRANA, he was arrested by security forces on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in front of his workplace. Following his arrest, he was transferred to Masjed Soleyman Prison in Khuzestan province, where he remains in a state of uncertainty.

The reasons for his arrest and the charges against him remain unknown at the time of this report.

Two Citizens Arrested by Security Forces in Masjed Soleyman

HRANA News Agency – Hajat Susani and Karim Jalili Gandaeli, residents of Masjed Soleyman, Khuzestan province, were arrested by security forces and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists in Iran, the identities of the detained individuals have been verified as Hajat Susani and Karim Jalili Gandeli. Based on information received by HRANA, these two citizens were arrested in recent days and transferred to an unknown location.

As of now, no information is available regarding the reasons for their arrest, their whereabouts, or the charges against them.

Moslem Alipour Detained by IRGC Intelligence in Masjed Soleyman

HRANA News Agency – Moslem Alipour, a resident of Masjed Soleyman, was arrested five days ago by IRGC Intelligence agents and is currently being held in Masjed Soleyman Prison.

A source close to Alipour’s family confirmed the arrest, telling HRANA: “He was taken into custody outside his home in the evening and later transferred to Ward 2 of Masjed Soleyman Prison.”

According to the source, his detention is linked to social media posts in which he expressed dissent.

As of the time of this report, authorities have not disclosed any official charges against him.

Karim Jalili Arrested in Masjed Soleyman

HRANA News Agency – Karim Jalili, a resident of Masjed Soleyman, was arrested by security forces at his home and taken to an undisclosed location.

Based on information received by HRANA, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Mr. Jalili was arrested by security forces at his home in Masjed Soleyman. A source close to his family confirmed the news to HRANA, stating, “It is likely that Mr. Jalili was arrested due to his activities on social media. His online accounts are now being controlled by security forces.”

As of the time of this report, no information is available regarding his whereabouts or the charges against him.

Karim Jalili, 40, has previously faced security-related confrontations due to his activism.

Iman Khedri Arrested in Masjed Soleyman

HRANA News Agency – On Monday, March 4, Iman Khedri, a resident of Masjed Soleyman, Khuzestan province, was arrested by IRGC Intelligence agents at his home and transferred to an undisclosed location.

According to information received by HRANA, IRGC Intelligence agents arrested Khedri at his residence in Masjed Soleyman. The arrest was carried out with violence, including beatings and the use of an electric shocker.

As of the time of this report, there is no information on his whereabouts or the charges against him.

Khedri has previously been arrested and faced security-related pressures due to his activities.

Four Citizens Detained in Ahvaz Prison for Over Two Months Without Clear Legal Proceedings

Foad Choobin, Keysan Shahabi, Danial Khanehzar, and Iman Khadari have been held in Sheyban Prison, Ahvaz, for over 65 days without clear indications of further legal proceedings.

Their lawyer, Hossein Ali Khatami, stated that their clients have been charged with propaganda against the regime, as reported by HRANA. The objections against extending their detention have been rejected twice so far.

On April 11, 2023, these individuals were arrested by security forces in Izeh. Foad Choobin is the uncle of Artin Rahmani, a 17-year-old minor killed by regime forces during the 2022 nationwide protests.

Shahabi and Choobin are residents of Izeh, while Khadari and Khanehzar reside in Masjed Soleyman.

Background on the 2022 Nationwide Protests

The protests in Iran were triggered by the arrest of Mahsa Amini by the Tehran Morality Police for her improper hijab and her subsequent suspicious death on September 16. The demonstrations quickly spread across the country, with participants rallying against the performance, laws, and structure of the regime. Thousands of people, including journalists, artists, lawyers, teachers, students, and civil rights activists, were arrested during the nationwide protests.

 

Flogged in Public for Sex Outside of Marriage

HRANA News Agency – A prisoner was flogged in public in Masjed-Soleyman, Khuzestan Province, on charges of having sexual intercourse without being married.

According to a report by Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), on Tuesday afternoon, July 20, 2011, a prisoner identified by the initials Q. M. received 90 lashes in Masjed-Soleyman’s main square.

Khuzestan Province’s Judiciary Public Relations announced that the flogging sentence had been issued by the criminal court in order to carry out justice and enforce the law of the land.
