Salar Salehi Arrested by Security Forces in Sanandaj

On Monday, September 27, Salar Salehi, who is from Sanandaj in Kurdistan Province, was arrested by security forces.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Kurdpa, Mr. Salehi is said to have been transferred to a security detention center for questioning following his arrest.

As of this writing, the exact whereabouts and the charges against Mr. Salehi are not known.

Salah Hossein-Panah Detained in Baneh

On Wednesday, September 22, Salah Hossein-Panah was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Kurdpa, Hossein-Panah is from Baneh City in Kurdistan Province.

According to this report, the security forces searched Mr. Hossein-Panah’s house and confiscated some of his belongings.

As of this writing, the whereabouts of the detainee and the charges against him are unknown.

Baha’i Citizen Sheida Taeed Arrested in Ghaemshahr

On Thursday, September 23, Sheida Taeed, a Baha’i citizen living in Ghaemshahr in Mazandaran Province, was arrested in her home by security forces.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, Taeed  was taken by security forces to an unknown location following the arrest.

Security forces also raided her home and confiscated a number of her belongings, including her mobile phone, electronics, books, photographs, and manuscripts.

According to an informed source, the security forces initially put Farideh Taeed, Sheida’s elderly mother, in the car as well, and dropped her off somewhere along the road.

Ms. Taeed has a history of detention and conviction. She was arrested in the city of Noor in January of 2013 and was finally sentenced to one year in prison in 2015, which she served out in Babol Prison.

According to unofficial sources, it is estimated that more than 300,000 Baha’is live in Iran, but the Iranian constitution recognizes only Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and Zoroastrianism. Because their faith is not considered legitimate by authorities, the rights of Baha’is in Iran have been systematically violated for years.

This deprivation of the freedom to practice their religion is a breach of Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and Article 18 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. The United Nations covenant holds that every person has the right to freedom of religion, freedom of converting religion, as well as freedom of expression, individually or collectively; openly or secretly.

Arman Asadi Arrested by Security Forces in Divandarreh

On Monday, September 27, Arman Asadi was arrested by security forces and transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Detention Center.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, Asadi, who is a native of Divandarreh in Kurdistan Province, informed his family  yesterday that he had been transferred to this security detention center.

“Mr. Asadi was detained by security forces when he was closing his shop for lunch,” an informed source told HRANA.

The reasons for Asadi’s  arrest and the charges against him are not known as of this writing.

Taregh Azizi Arrested by Security Forces in Nikshahr

On the evening of Friday, September 17, Taregh Azizi from Nikshahr was arrested by security forces.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting RASANK, after his arrest, Azizi was transferred to an unknown location.

According to this report, Mr. Azizi is said to have been summoned several times by the IRGC intelligence of the Shahid Memar base in Iranshahr in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, previously.

At the time of writing, no information is available on the reasons for Azizi’s detention or the charges against him.

Rapper Known for his Protest Songs Arrested in Isfahan

On Monday, September 13, Toomaj Salehi, a rapper known for his protest songs, was arrested by security forces at his home in Isfahan.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, 12 security forces came to the artist’s house in 4 cars, searched his house during his arrest, and confiscated a number of his belongings.

Mr. Salehi had previously warned on his Twitter account that he might be arrested.

As of this writing, no information is available on the charges against him or where he is being held.

Saeed Fathi Nejad Sentenced to Three Years and 7 Months in Prison

The Revolutionary Court of Mahabad sentenced Saeed Fathi Nejad, a citizen currently detained in Mahabad Prison, to three years and seven months in prison.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Kurdpa, Mr. Fathi Nejad received this sentence on a charge of “membership in an opposition group”.

He was arrested by security forces in mid-June without a court order and was transferred to Mahabad Prison after being interrogated.

28-year-old Saeed Fathi Nejad has been denied access to a lawyer and family visits during his detention.

Azerbaijani Turk Activist Ali Shahi Arrested by Security Forces in Ardabil

On Friday, September 3, Azerbaijani Turk activist Ali Shahi was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, security forces searched Shahi’s home in Ardabil and confiscated some of his belongings, including his cell phone and computer.

As of this writing, the reasons for his arrest, the charges against him, and his whereabouts are unknown.

Baha’i Citizen Arsalan Yazdani Arrested in Tehran

On Wednesday, September 1, Bah’ai citizen Arsalan Yazdani was arrested and transferred to an unknown location by security forces in Tehran.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, security forces searched Mr. Yazdani’s home and confiscated some of his personal belongings at the time of the arrest.

Abbas Vahedian Shahroudi Detained by Security Forces in Rezvanshahr

At noon on Wednesday, September 1, writer, teacher, and civil activist Abbas Vahedian Shahroudi was arrested by intelligence agents in Rezvanshahr and taken to an unknown location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, meanwhile, Vahedian’s daughter’s home in Mashhad was searched and inspected by security forces and some personal belongings were confiscated.

Mr. Vahedian has previously been arrested and convicted for his writings and activistm. He was arrested in Mashhad in October 2018 and later charged by Branch 903 of the Revolutionary Court of Mashhad with “acting against national security”, and “attempting to overthrow the regime”. He was released on bail of 350 million tomans from Vakilabad prison in Mashhad in December 2018.

Shortly after his interrogation, in August 2019, Vahedian was again arrested and transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad . He was one of the 14 signatories of a letter of request for the resignation of Ayatollah Khamenei, the supreme leader. Mr. Vahedian was released on bail from Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad in July 2020.
