7 Civil Rights Activists in “not a Proper Situation” in Ardebil Prison

HRANA News Agency – The situation of 7 civil rights activists who are kept in Ardebil prison, has been described as “not proper” in a contact with their family.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), 7 Turk (Azeri) civil rights activists named Tohid Amir Amini, Mortaza Parvin, Meisam Jolani, Saeed Sadeghifar, Saleh Pichganlo, Mostafa Parvin and Mohsen Mohsenzadeh who are serving their sentences in the Ardebil prison, complained about the whereabouts and have described their conditions as deplorable and intolerable, in contact with their families. 2 Civil Rights Activists Arrested in Tabriz

HRANA News Agency – Amir Valizadeh and Azimi Ghadim were arrested in Tabriz by security forces.

2 Other Civil Rights Activists Went to Ardebil Prison

HRANA News Agency – Said Sadeghifar and Mohsen Mohsenzadeh, two civil rights activists introduced themselves to Ardebil prison to serve three months and one day in prison. On April 5, 2016 also five other citizens in this city on similar charges had introduced themselves to the prison.

25 Years Imprisonment without Furlough; Osman Mostafapoor

HRANA News Agency – Osman Mostafapoor, political prisoner of Uremia prison is serving his sentence since 25 years ago without furlough. He was sentenced to accumulation of 35 years, in two different cases by the revolutionary court.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Osman Mostafapoor (born in 1967) was arrested on July 14, 1991, and imprisoned the same year. He was sentenced to death in branch number one of the revolutionary court of Uremia on charge of accompanying in murder by judge Javaheri. This sentence was reduced to 10 years in prison in 2001. 5 Civil Rights Activists Went to Ardebil Prison

HRANA News Agency – Five civil rights activists named Rahim Gholami, Ali Vaseghi, Ali Kheyrjoo, Morteza Parvin, Mehrdad Shahbazi and Behruz Shahbazi were sent to Ardebil prison for serving their three-months-imprisonment and thirty lashes sentences.
According to the report of the Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), each of these activists had been sentenced to three months in prison and thirty lashes in November 2015 on charges of “disturbing the public order and welfare by ethnic and nationalist slogans in the football stadium”. Amnesty International: Further Sentence of Yousef Kakehmami for Sending Letter to Ahmad Shaheed

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International condemned the further 5 years in prison sentence for Yousef Kakehmami, prisoner of Uremia prison, who wrote a letter to Ahmad Shaheed the UN special rapporteur and demanded his immediate action.

Amnesty International Expresses Concern about Afshin Sohrabzadeh’s Situation

HRANA News Agency – Amnesty International in a statement called for immediate action on the situation of political prisoner, Afshin Sohrabzadeh, Kurdish prisoner exiled in Minab prison, who is suffering from severe gastritis and respiratory problems.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency in Iran (HRANA), Amnesty International in a statement along with the request for urgent action, has announced that, Afshin Sohrabzadeh, a member of Iran’s Kurdish minority who is serving his 25 years imprisonment in exile in a remote prison, south of Hormozgan province, is in dire need of special medical treatment outside the prison. He is in a situation that his life is in danger, and being long away from a proper treatment has exacerbated this situation. Appeals Court Upheld Sentences of 5 Civil Rights Activists

HRANA News Agency – The sentences of five Turk (Azeri) activists who had protested at the television program “Fitileh” has been confirmed by the appeals court of Ardabil province. According to the sentence each of the defendants should serve 91 days in prison.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), judge Yosef Khodadadi of Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court in Ardebil had sentenced five of these activists on the charge of “participation in the illegal gathering and collusion to disrupt the national security against” to three months and one day. 2 Civil Rights Activists Acquitted of the Charges in the Court

HRANA News Agency – Sina Ershadi and Siamak Saifi, two residents of Meshkinshar were acquitted of the charge of propaganda against the regime.
According to the report of Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), branch number 102 of the criminal court of Meshkinshahr acquitted Sina Ghorban Ershadi and Simak Saifi of the charge of propaganda against the regime by chanting separatists Azeri slogans. Mortaza Noor Mohammadi Released on the Bail after the Trial

HRANA News Agency – Mortaza Noor Mohammadi, Turk (Azeri) civil activist, who had attended the Revolutionary Court in Shabestar due to the complaints of Disciplinary and Places Office of this city, on Monday March 14th, and was tried, has been released temporarily on the bail of 20 million tomans.
