Nasrin Shakarami Arrested in Khorramabad

On October 16, Nasrin Shakarami, the mother of Nika Shakarami—who was killed during the 2022 nationwide protests—was arrested in Khorramabad.

Her daughter, Aida Shakarami, confirmed the arrest but stated that the reason for the detention and any charges against Nasrin remain unclear. As of now, Nasrin’s location is also unknown.

Nika Shakarami, a 17-year-old from Khorramabad, lost her life during the 2022 protests in Tehran. Behesht Zahra Cemetery later attributed her death to “multiple injuries caused by blunt force trauma.”

Prisoner Executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad

On August 28, 2024, a prisoner previously sentenced to death on murder charges was executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has identified the prisoner as Meysam Hosseinkhani, a resident of Kuhdasht. He was previously arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of this report, the execution of this prisoner has not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.
According to the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran, in 2023, at least 767 citizens, including 21 women and 2 juvenile offenders, were executed. Of these, the executions of 7 individuals were carried out in public. Additionally, during this period, 172 others were sentenced to death, with 5 of them sentenced to public execution. It is worth noting that during the same period, the initial death sentences of 49 other individuals were also upheld by the Supreme Court.

Two Prisoners Executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad

At dawn on Saturday, August 10, two death-row prisoners previously convicted on drug-related were exectued in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has confirmed the identity of one of the executed prisoners as “Naser Garavand.” Both prisoners had been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or relevant institutions.

According to the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran, in 2023, at least 767 citizens, including 21 women and 2 juvenile offenders, were executed. Of these, the executions of 7 individuals were carried out in public. Additionally, during this period, 172 others were sentenced to death, with 5 of them sentenced to public execution. It is worth noting that during the same period, the initial death sentences of 49 other individuals were also upheld by the Supreme Court.

On Thursday, August 1, the execution of two prisoners, previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges, was carried out in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has identified one of these prisoners as Hamed Parseh. These prisoners had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by the judiciary.

No official sources or domestic media outlets within the country have provided coverage of these executions at the time of writing. In 2023, 66% of HRANA’s reports on executions lacked official announcements by judicial authorities and went unreported by media inside Iran, highlighting a troubling lack of transparency in due process.

Three Prisoners Executed in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad

On Saturday, July 27th, the death sentences of three prisoners, previously convicted on drug-related charges, were carried out in Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad.

HRANA has identified one of the prisoners executed this morning as Azim Amraie.
They had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and then sentenced to death by the judiciary.

It is worth noting that on July 20, Parsilon Prison, Khorramabad also witnessed the execution of another prisoner named Saeed Sepehvand, who had been sentenced to death on similar charges.

Ast the time of thie wirting, the execution of these prisoners has not been announced by prison officials or the relevant authorities.
In 2023, the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran registered the execution of 767 individuals. Out of these, 7 were carried out in public. Among the executed individuals whose genders were identified, 21 were female. Additionally, 2 juvenile offenders, defined as individuals under the age of 18 at the time of their alleged crimes, were also executed.

Report on Hossein Kooshki Nejad’s Condition in Evin Prison

Hossein Kooshki Nejad, a political prisoner, is serving his sentence in Evin Prison. He suffers from physical health issues which has been denied transfer to a hospital and appropriate medical care.

A source familiar with the condition of this political prisoner confirmed this news to HRANA, stating: “Kooshki Nejad has a meniscus tear in his knee and, according to doctors, requires surgery. He has made several written requests for hospital transfer, but has not received any response and has been deprived of specialized medical care.”

Kooshki Nejad was arrested on April 7th of this year to serve his sentence and was transferred to Ward 8 of Evin Prison.

Last year, he faced new legal charges in Khorramabad’s Prosecutor’s Office. The indictment for this case, accusing him of “propaganda activities against the regime,” was referred to the Tehran Revolutionary Court. Subsequently, a judge sentenced him to one year in prison.

Kooshki Nejad, born in 1988, is the brother of Reza Koushki Nejad, who was arrested during the nationwide protests in 2022.

Inmate Executed in Parsilon Prison for Drug-Related Crimes

The execution of Amraie was postponed for three months, and he was returned to the general ward of the prison.

Hossein Kooshki Nejad Begins One-Year Prison Term in Evin Prison

On April 7, 2024, Hossein Kooshki Nejad commenced his one-year prison term in Evin Prison. His brother, Reza, who was detained during the 2022 nationwide protests, is currently serving a two-year sentence in Ilam prison.

According to reports obtained by HRANA, Kooshki Nejad faced legal action last year in the Courthouse in Khorramabad, accused of the political charge of “propaganda against the regime.” The Tehran Revolutionary Court subsequently took over the case and sentenced him to one year in prison.

Kooshki Nejad stated that the beginning of his sentence had been postponed until April 7.

Execution of Inmate at Khorramabad Prison

On April 5, 2024, Khorramabad Prison carried out the execution of an inmate found guilty of murder, as reported by the Iran Human Rights Organization.

The inmate, identified as Hassan-Ali Mirzania, aged 30, was convicted four years ago for the fatal shooting of two brothers with a hunting gun.

Saeed Ghader Panah Arrested and Incarcerated in Khorramabad Prison

Saeed Ghader Panah, a resident of Khorramabad, was apprehended on March 9, 2024, following his appearance at the Revolutionary Court in the city. He was promptly incarcerated in Khorramabad Prison.

A source close to Ghader Panah, noting his health condition, confirmed his arrest, mentioning that he suffers from diabetes.

According to the same source, Ghader Panah had been summoned to the court on political charges, specifically “propaganda against the regime.”

This isn’t the first instance of Ghader Panah’s encounter with security forces. He was previously detained on January 15, 2024, and subsequently released on bail from Khorramabad Prison.

Ghader Panah, 43, is a father of two.
