Two Prisoners Executed in Dastgerd Prison for Drug-Related Crimes

HRANA News Agency – On January 30, 2025, the death sentences of two prisoners, previously convicted in separate cases on drug-related charges, were carried out in Dastgerd Prison, Isfahan.

Iran Human Rights have been identified these hanged prisoners as Mahdi Salehzadeh, 35, from Rasht, and Abdollah Khademi, 41, from Urmia, a father of three who resided near Tabriz.

According to the report, both individuals had been arrested in separate cases on drug-related charges and were sentenced to death by the judiciary. Their executions were carried out without a final visit with their families.

As of the time of this report, prison authorities and relevant institutions have not officially announced the executions.

Prisoner Executed in Sari Prison for Drug-Related Crimes

HRANA News Agency – The death sentence of a prisoner previously convicted of drug-related charges was carried out at dawn on Saturday, February 1, in Sari Prison, according to Iran Human Rights.

The identity of the prisoner has been reported as Ehsan Jamshidi, approximately 40 years old and a resident of Sari.

According to the report, this prisoner was arrested three years ago on drug-related charges and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court. Before his arrest, Ehsan Jamshidi worked as a taxi driver.

As of the time of this report, prison authorities and relevant institutions have not officially announced the execution.

Political Prisoner Manouchehr Fallah Sentenced to Death on Moharebeh Charges

HRANA News Agency – Manouchehr Fallah, a political prisoner held in Lakan Prison in Rasht, has been sentenced to death by Branch 2 of the Revolutionary Court of Rasht on charges of Moharebeh (enmity against God).

The verdict, issued by Judge Darvish Goftar, was formally communicated yesterday to his defense attorneys, Ms. Khorsandi and Ms. Khojasteh. Fallah was convicted of Moharebeh for allegedly acting against national security.

A source close to Fallah confirmed the ruling to HRANA, stating, “Since the beginning of his legal proceedings, Mr. Fallah has been denied access to a lawyer.” His trial took place on December 11, 2024, via video conference.

Fallah was arrested in June 2023 by security forces at Rasht Airport and transferred to Lakan Prison.

In December 2023, in a separate case, he was sentenced by Branch 3 of the Rasht Revolutionary Court to one year, three months, and one day in prison for insulting the Supreme Leader, as well as seven months and 16 days for propaganda against the regime. After accepting the verdict, one-quarter of his sentence was reduced, and he completed his prison term for this case in May 2024.

Before his arrest, Manouchehr Fallah, a tattoo artist, resided on Kish Island.

Prisoner Executed in Yasuj Prison

HRANA News Agency – At dawn on Thursday, January 30, a prisoner who had been sentenced to death on murder charges was executed in Yasuj Prison.

HRANA has identified the executed prisoner as Mohammad Zaboli. Based on information obtained by HRANA, Mr. Zaboli was arrested in 2019 on murder charges and later sentenced to death by a criminal court.

As of the time of this report, prison authorities and relevant institutions have not officially announced his execution.

In 2024, the Department of Statistics and Publication of Human Rights Activists in Iran documented 812 cases related to the right to life, including the sentencing of 214 individuals to death and the execution of 930 individuals. Among these, 4 executions were carried out in public. Of those executed, 818 were male, 26 were female, and 5 were juvenile offenders—individuals under 18 years old at the time of their alleged crimes.

Three Prisoners Executed in Adelabad Prison, Shiraz

HRANA News Agency – In the early hours of Wednesday, January 29, 2025, the death sentences of three prisoners convicted of non-political offenses were carried out at Adelabad Prison in Shiraz.

According to HRANA, the news agency of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, the executed individuals have been identified as:

  • Hamid Fanaei (resident of Marvdasht)
  • Amir Fanaei (resident of Marvdasht)
  • Ali Heidari (resident of Shiraz)

HRANA has confirmed that these three prisoners had been sentenced to death by judicial authorities for non-political offenses.

As of the time of this report, prison officials and relevant authorities have not publicly announced these executions. In 2024, judicial authorities or domestic media in Iran officially announced only 6% of executions, underscoring a deeply troubling lack of transparency in the country’s legal and judicial processes.

According to HRANA’s data, Adelabad Prison in Shiraz carried out 85 executions in 2024, marking a 73% increase compared to the previous year. Three Prisoners Moved to Solitary in Ghezel Hesar Prison for Execution

HRANA News Agency – Yesterday, January 26, three prisoners in Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj, who had previously been sentenced to death on murder charges, were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for their execution.

The transfer of these prisoners was carried out as part of the process to implement their death sentences. Further details, including the identities of these individuals, are under investigation by HRANA.

HRANA has identified the executed prisoner as Hamid Jahangiri, 36 years old. He had been arrested on drug-related charges and subsequently sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

Drug-Related Crimes: Three Prisoners Executed in Karaj Central Prison

HRANA News Agency – At dawn on Sunday, January 26, three prisoners previously sentenced to death on drug-related charges were executed in Karaj Central Prison.

HRANA has identified these hanged prisoners as Farhad Fardini, Samad Hashemi, and Farzad Mirzaei.

HRANA had previously reported that these prisoners were transferred to solitary confinement in preparation for the implementation of their death sentences. The individuals had been arrested on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Courts.

As of the time of this report, prison authorities and relevant institutions have not officially announced the executions.

The prisoner has been identified by HRANA as Abbas Mohammadi, 49, a resident of Kangavar.

Four Prisoners Executed in Yazd Prison

HRANA News Agency – on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, four prisoners previously sentenced to death on charges related to drug offenses were executed in Yazd Prison.

Haal Vsh has identified one of the prisoners as Ahmad Sasouli, approximately 28 years old and the father of one child, from and residing a village in Zabol County, Sistan and Baluchestan province.

Per the report, Mr. Sasouli was arrested five years ago in Ardakan, on drug-related charges. After a period of uncertainty, he was sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Ardakan.

On Monday, January 20, he was transferred from Ardakan Prison to the quarantine section of Yazd Central Prison in preparation for his execution. His execution was carried out without a final visit with his family.

The identities and charges of the three other prisoners executed today have not been disclosed in the report.
