At Least 12 Executed Across Iranian Prisons on Murder and Drug-Related Charges

HRANA – On Wednesday, December 17, at least 12 individuals were executed in various prisons across Iran on charges of murder and drug-related offenses.

HRANA reported that on this day the death sentences of the following individuals were carried out on murder charges:

Faramarz Papi, executed at Shahrekord Prison
 Karamkhoda Yari, executed at Sabzevar Prison
Osman Ahmadi, executed at Mahabad Prison
Ebrahim Azizi, executed at Malayer Prison
Yarvali Azimi, executed at Kashmar Prison
Sajjad Farahmand, executed at Chabahar Prison
Mehrshad Asgari, executed at Damghan Prison
Mohammad Boghlani, executed at Bushehr Prison

In addition, the death sentence of Parviz Sha’bani, on charges related to drug-related crimes, was carried out at Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad.

Separately, the newspaper Hamshahri reported that, in addition to the execution of Raziyeh Abbasi, two other prisoners were hanged on murder charges yesterday at Ghezel Hesar Prison. Hamshahri did not disclose the identities of these individuals.

From the beginning of this year until the end of November, 2025, the Iranian regime has executed 1,594 people, marking an unprecedented increase compared to previous years.

Fourteen Executions in Iran Reported on December 10

HRANA – Yesterday, Wednesday, December 10, HRANA reported the execution of thirteen prisoners on charges of murder and drug-related offenses. Heirkani also reported the execution of one prisoner in Lakan Prison in Rasht.

According to HRANA, on this day, the following individuals were executed:

Sohail Hamidi, on a murder charge, in Mahabad Prison;

Noormohammad Shabani, on a murder charge, in Sabzevar Prison;

Mohammadkarim Siadi, on a murder charge, in Shahr-e Kord Prison;

Nemat Behiraei, on a murder charge, in Bushehr Prison;

Kourosh Sabzi, on drug-related charges, in Kashmar Prison;

Reza Sabzi, on a murder charge, in Malayer Prison;

Hassan Morad Haqi, on drug-related charges, in Damghan Prison;

An Afghan national, identity unknown, on drug-related charges, in Chabahar Prison;

Two prisoners, including a woman, in Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad on murder charges; HRANA has confirmed the identity of the woman as Elnaz Azizi.

Three prisoners in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz on drug-related charges; HRANA has confirmed the identity of one of them as Khoda-Bakhsh Elyasi.

Additionally, according to Hyrcani News, a prisoner named Mehrdad Mirzaei, 38 years old, was executed in Lakan Prison in Rasht on drug-related charges.

Abdolghafour Azizi Arrested by Security Forces in Chabahar

HRANA News Agency – On Wednesday, May 21, Abdolghafour Azizi, a resident of Chabahar, was arrested by security forces in the city and taken to an undisclosed location.

According to Haal Vsh, the individual has been identified as Abdolghafour Azizi, approximately 65 years old, a retired employee of the Water and Wastewater Department, originally from Qasr-e Qand and currently residing in Chabahar.

According to the report, Mr. Azizi was arrested at his private residence without a judicial warrant. Following his arrest by security forces, he was transferred to an unknown location.

As of now, no information is available regarding the reasons for his arrest, his whereabouts, or the charges against him.

Arbitrary arrests, transferring detainees to undisclosed locations, and leaving families in the dark about the fate of their loved ones are routine practices of the Iranian regime’s security agencies, such as the Ministry of Intelligence and the IRGC Intelligence Unit. This pattern of behavior stands in clear violation of the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners, known as the Nelson Mandela Rules.

Seven Prisoners Executed Over Two Days in Zahedan Prison

HRANA News Agency – Over the course of Saturday and Sunday, seven prisoners were executed in Zahedan Prison on charges related to drug offenses and murder.

According to HRANA, quoting Haal Vsh, four of the executed prisoners were identified as Majid Lajaei (approx. 36 years old), Ramin Alizahi (approx. 38, father of four), Davood Bajizahi (Shahouzahi, father of six), and a man with the surname Rigi (first name unknown). All four were residents of Zahedan.

Ramin Alizahi was arrested around a year and a half ago, Majid Lajaei in 2023, and Davood Bajizahi in 2022—all on drug-related charges. They were later sentenced to death by the Zahedan Revolutionary Court.

Haal Vsh also reported that on Sunday, three more prisoners—Allahnazr Gorgij (about 40 years old, father of six), Abdolsalam Baloch Mashkandi (Ahurani, approx. 28), and Fereydoun Mohammadi—were executed in the same prison.

According to the report, Abdolsalam Baloch Mashkandi had been convicted of killing a Sepah Bank security guard in Chabahar on August 25, 2022. Allahnazr Gorgij was arrested seven years ago on a murder charge in Zahek County and later sentenced to death. Fereydoun Mohammadi had also been sentenced to death for murder.

As of the time of this report, the executions have not been officially confirmed by prison authorities or relevant state institutions.

Elham Ostadi Sentenced to One Year in Prison

The Revolutionary Court of Zahedan sentenced Elham Ostadi, a resident of Iranshahr, to one year in prison, according to Resanak.

Branch Two of the Zahedan Revolutionary Court issued the sentence, convicting her of “propaganda against the regime.”

The charges against Ostadi stem from her Instagram posts, where she protested the rape of a 15-year-old girl by the former police chief of Chabahar.

Elham Ostadi, a 30-year-old resident of Iranshahr, was arrested by security forces in August of 2023. She was released on bail on September 2, 2022, after posting a 200-million-toman bond (approximately 4000 dollars).

The report also mentioned that Ostadi had previously been fined for “disturbing public opinion” in a separate case.

Local sources had earlier reported that on September 1, 2022, Ebrahim Kouchakzai, the police chief of Chabahar, lured a 15-year-old girl to his private quarters under the pretext of interrogation and raped her. This incident sparked protests across Sistan and Baluchestan province.

In February of 2022, the judiciary announced that Kouchakzai had been convicted by the Military Court of Sistan and Baluchestan for the rape of the 15-year-old girl in the village of Sedighzahi. He was sentenced to imprisonment and dismissed from public service.

Two Inmates Executed in Shiraz and Chabahar Prisons

On November 26, two inmates faced execution in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz and Chabahar (Chah Bahar) Prisons.

Reza Rastkhiz, 37 years old, was executed at Adelabad Prison for drug-related offenses that led to his arrest three years ago, as reported by the Iran Human Rights Organization.

Simultaneously, the Baloch Activists Campaign conveyed the execution of Adel Damani in Chabahar Prison, situated in the Sistan and Baluchestan province. Damani, convicted of murder nine years ago, met the tragic end sanctioned by the legal system.

These executions add to the ongoing discussions surrounding the application of capital punishment in Iran and raise questions about the nature of justice in cases involving drug offenses and murder convictions. The human rights implications of such decisions continue to be a subject of global concern and scrutiny.

According to data compiled by the Center of Statistics of Human Rights Activists in Iran (HRA), between October 10, 2022, and October 8, 2023, a total of 659 individuals were executed by hanging in Iran, representing a 24% increase compared to the corresponding period in the previous year. Two Individuals Arrested in Zahedan

Security forces arrested Ahmad She-Bakhsh and Abdolhamid She-Bakhsh, two residents of Zahedan, and took them to an undisclosed location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Haal Vsh, on March 29, 2023, Ahmad She-Bakhsh and Abdolhamid She-Bakhsh were arrested by security forces.

The intelligence agents reportedly arrested them on their way from Chabahar to Zahedan and took them to an unknown location in Zahedan. Their family inquiries from security/judicial authorities have remained unanswered so far.

The allegations against these individuals are still unknown.

 

Iran Protests: 16-Year-Old Teen Girl Sentenced to Imprisonment and Paying a Fine

The Criminal Court of Zahedan sentenced 16-year-old Nazanin Ahmadipour to six months in prison and paying a fine. On October 28, 2022, security forces arrested Ahmadipour at protests in Chabahar and released her after twenty days of detention.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting Haal Vsh, teenager Nazanin Ahmadipour was sentenced to six months and a 25-million-toman fine on the charge of “propaganda against the regime and participating in protests and inciting people to protests.”

Three Citizens Arrested by Security Forces in Chabahar and Taken to Unknown Location

On Wednesday, June 16, three brothers from Ramin village of Chabahar in Sistan and Baluchestan Province, were arrested by intelligence agents.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting the Baloch Activists Campaign, the arrested brothers were Yaser Baluch,  Ali Baluch, and Balach Baluch.

Per the report, an informed source said, “These brothers have been arrested for protesting the confiscation of a piece of land called Eidgah by the Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution.”

As of this writing, the Baluch brothers’ whereabouts are unknown.

Sistan and Baluchestan Province : Two Citizens Detained by Security Forces in the Cities of Konarak and Chabahar

On April 30, 2021, two citizens were arrested by security forces in the cities of Konarak and Chabahar and taken to an unknown location.

According to HRANA, the news agency of Human Rights Activists, quoting the campaign of Baluch activists, Molavi Yousef Abasteh, son of Yar Mohammad, was arrested by IRGC intelligence forces in his home, in the city of Konarak.

Another citizen, 19-year-old Ismail Parwan, son of Sediq and a resident of Bahu Kalat village, was also detained by Chabahar Ministry of Intelligence officials in Chabahar.

As of this writing, no information is available on the whereabouts of the detainees or the charges against them.
