At Least 12 Prisoners Executed in Iran Over Two Days

HRANA- Over the past two days, according to reports by HRANA, at least 12 prisoners have been executed in Iran’s prisons.

Tuesday, December 23:
According to HRANA, the death sentences of the following individuals were carried out on this day:

Saman Barzegar, convicted on drug-related charges, in Birjand Prison;
Karim Yousefi, convicted on drug-related charges, in Khaf Prison;
Ghanbar Farhadi, convicted of murder, in Ilam Prison;
Safarali Sadeghi, convicted of murder, in Sepidar Prison in Ahvaz;
Nejat Yari, convicted of murder, in Bam Prison.

In addition, a prisoner with the surname Moshiri (first name unknown) was executed on drug-related charges in Kerman Prison.

Monday, December 22:
HRANA reported the execution of the following prisoners on this day:

Jamshid Nourmohammadi, on drug-related charges, in Kashan Prison;
Majid Ahmadi, convicted of murder, in Neyshabur Prison;
Iman Bakhshi, convicted of murder, in Saveh Prison;
Noorkhoda Moradi, convicted of murder, in Dorud Prison;
Aydin Nourzad, convicted of murder, in Gorgan Prison;
Abbas Omidi, on drug-related charges, in Zanjan Prison.

Additionally, Iran Human Rights Organization reported the execution of two Afghan citizens on Sunday, December 21, in Taybad Prison. Their identities have been confirmed as Morad Sheghnaei, 27, and Mohammad Babrian, 32.

As of the time of this report, these executions have not been officially announced by prison authorities or the relevant institutions.

At Least Seven Prisoners Executed on December 16 Across Iranian Prisons

HRANA – Various prisons continue to witness an unprecedented wave of executions on charges related to murder and drug offenses. This report provides details of some of these executions carried out in recent days.

Today, Wednesday, December 17, a female prisoner named Razieh Abbasi, approximately 40 years old, was hanged in Ghezel Hesar Prison. According to information received by HRANA, Ms. Abbasi had previously been arrested on charges of murdering her husband and was later sentenced to death by a criminal court.
This prisoner, who had been held in Qarchak Prison in Varamin, was recently transferred to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj for the implementation of her execution sentence.

According to HRANA, on Tuesday, December 16, the death sentences of the following individuals were carried out:

• Mahmoud Din Mohammadi, on charges of murder, in Birjand Prison, South Khorasan province;
• Yazdan Mohammadzadeh, on charges of murder, in Bam Prison, Kerman province;
• Nejat Rajabi, on charges of murder, in Jiroft Prison, Kerman province;
• Keyhan Abbasi, on charges of murder, in Borazjan Prison, Bushehr province;
Ghobad (Qobad) Fathollahi, on charges of murder, in Ilam Prison;
• Ali Mohammad Roshanfekr, on charges of murder, in Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz;
• Ata Shahsavari, on drug-related charges, in Khaf Prison, Razavi Khorasan province.

HRANA also reported that on Sunday, three prisoners were hanged on charges of murder in Yazd Prison. The identities of two of these prisoners, Jasem Seghaei and Khalegh Zolfaghari, have been confirmed by HRANA.

Additionally, a human rights organization reported the execution of a prisoner named Heydar Amiri, 32 years old, on charges of murder on Monday, December 15, in Sabzevar Prison. The organization also reported that on Sunday, Mohammad Rahimi, 50 years old, was executed on drug-related charges in Gorgan Prison.

From the beginning of this year until the end of November, 2025, the Iranian regime has executed 1,594 people, marking an unprecedented increase compared to previous years.

At Least 27 Prisoners Executed Across Iran from December 7 to 9

HRANA – Between Sunday and Tuesday, December 7 to 9, at least 27 prisoners were executed in prisons across Iran.

Sunday, December 7

Iran Human Rights reported that in addition to the execution of a prisoner named Farshid Jafarzadeh, two other prisoners were hanged in Lakan Prison of Rasht. Their identities were reported as Sirus Zabihi, 32, and Ali Soudi, 27. Mr. Zabihi had been sentenced to death about three years ago following a group altercation that resulted in a murder charge. Ali Soudi had been arrested about two years earlier on charges related to drug offenses.

The organization also reported the execution of Hassan Bahmani, 28, on a murder charge in Neyshabur Prison.

Monday, December 8

According to HRANA, on this day, Sultan Morad Bahmani was executed in Kerman Prison and Nima Karami in Neyshabur Prison, both on drug-related charges. Two other prisoners were also hanged in Dastgerd Prison of Isfahan on similar charges. HRANA has confirmed the identity of one of them as Mohammad-Baqer Souri.

Additionally, Borzu Beigi in Saveh Prison, Bahram Mousavi in Dorud Prison, Reza Raoufi in Kashan Prison, Kermshah Zaki-Pour in Zanjan Prison, and Ali Rostgari in Gorgan Prison were executed on murder charges.

Tuesday, December 9

As previously reported by HRANA, six prisoners were hanged on drug-related charges in Birjand Prison on this day. HRANA has confirmed the identities of three of them as Mirzakhan Basati, Behzad Mazarzahi, and Ali Barahouei. The identity of a fourth prisoner has been confirmed by Haal Vsh as Ramazan Deldadeh.

Ghanbar Eslami, on drug-related charges, in Khaf Prison
Kermali Farhadi, on a murder charge, in Bam Prison

Execution of Six Prisoners in Birjand

HRANA – Today, Tuesday, six prisoners were executed in Birjand Prison on charges related to drug offenses.

Iran Executes at Least 12 Prisoners Over Three Days Amid Surge in Executions

HRANA – Amid an unprecedented rise in executions in recent months in Iran, at least 12 prisoners have been executed over the past three days on charges of murder or drug-related offenses in various prisons across the country.

Tuesday, December 2
HRANA reported the executions of Fariborz Niazi on a murder charge in Malayer Prison; Mohammad Javad Aminpour on a murder charge in Ardabil Prison; Aziz Sheikhi on drug-related charges in Ferdows Prison; and Malek Gerayi on a murder charge in Ilam Prison.

Wednesday, December 3
According to HRANA, on this date the following executions were carried out:
Manouchehr Ahmadi, on a murder charge in Borazjan Prison
Mehran Chaboksavar, on a murder charge in Neyshabur Prison
Amin Mahdavi, on a murder charge in Mahshahr Prison
Majid Namjou, on a murder charge in Bushehr Prison
Siavash Khosravi, on drug-related charges in Kashan Prison
Saber Zahedi, on drug-related charges in Shahr-e Kord Prison

On this day, HRANA reported the executions of Rahim Mansouri, on a murder charge in Kashmar Prison, and Hossein Ali Yeganeh, on drug-related charges in Birjand Prison.

Shahram Fallah, a Baha’i Citizen, Sentenced to Imprisonment and Exile

HRANA – Shahram Fallah, a Baha’i citizen imprisoned in Kerman Prison, has been sentenced by the Kerman Province Court of Appeals to nine years, six months, and one day in prison, as well as one year of exile to Birjand County.

This verdict was recently issued in absentia by the Kerman Province Court of Appeals on charges of “deviant educational and promotional activities contrary to Islamic law through unfounded and false claims in religious matters, with organizational connections abroad,” as well as forming a group aimed at disrupting national security.

According to the judge’s ruling, Mr. Fallah’s original sentence of thirteen years, six months, and two days in prison, issued by the trial court, was reduced to nine years, six months, and one day. However, the one-year exile to Birjand County, imposed as a supplementary punishment, was fully upheld.

Mr. Fallah was arrested on August 18, 2025, by Ministry of Intelligence agents at his residence and transferred to Kerman Prison. At the time of his arrest, agents confiscated the mobile phones of family members and guests, as well as several books and religious images belonging to Mr. Fallah.

Shahram Fallah, a 64-year-old Baha’i citizen residing in Kerman, has previously faced legal actions, arrest, and convictions.

12 Prisoners Executed Across Multiple Prisons on Murder and Drug-Related Charges

HRANA – In recent days, dozens of prisoners across various prisons in Iran have been executed on charges related to murder and drug offenses. This report covers the execution of 12 prisoners.

Sunday, November 23 :
HRANA reported the execution of Ja’far Shokri on a murder charge in Birjand Prison.

According to Iran Human Rights Organization, a 36-year-old prisoner was executed in Maragheh Prison on a murder charge stemming from a conflict. The report did not provide further details, including the prisoner’s identity.

Tuesday, November 25:
According to HRANA, a prisoner named Noushad Amiri was executed in Qazvin Prison on charges related to drug offenses.

Wednesday, November 26:
According to HRANA, a prisoner named Hormoz Nejati was hanged in Esfarayen Prison. He had previously been arrested on charges related to drug offenses and later sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

On the same day, Hyrkani News reported the execution of two prisoners, Ali Saye-afkan from Rasht and Mehrdad Pourhossein, in Lakan Prison in Rasht. Both had previously been arrested on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by judicial authorities.

Finally, Haal Vsh reported the execution of six prisoners in Adelabad Prison in Shiraz. The identity of one of them, Hamid Yousef-Zahi, age 38, has been confirmed. He was executed on drug-related charges.

At the time this report was prepared, the executions of these prisoners had not been announced by prison officials or relevant authorities.

Execution of Five Prisoners in Birjand and Maragheh Prisons

HRANA – Over the past three days, the death sentences of at least five prisoners were carried out in the prisons of Maragheh and Birjand. These prisoners had previously been sentenced to death on charges including murder and drug-related offenses.

According to Iran Human Rights, at dawn on Sunday, November 9, 2025, the death sentence of one prisoner was carried out in Maragheh Prison. The prisoner has been identified as Arzhang Nabavi, 49 years old, a native of Zanjan and resident of Maragheh.

According to the report, “Mr. Nabavi was involved in a dispute during a property transaction four years ago and was accused of fatally stabbing the other party during the altercation.”

According to Haal Vsh, on Monday, November 10, 2025, at least four prisoners were executed in Birjand Prison.

One of the executed prisoners has been identified as Abdolkarim Sasouli, approximately 60 years old, father of seven, and a resident of Zabol. Mr. Sasouli was arrested about three years ago in Birjand County on drug-related charges and later sentenced to death by the Birjand Revolutionary Court.

According to the report, Mr. Sasouli was executed without prior notice to his family and without a final visit.

Haal Vsh did not provide the names or details of the other three prisoners executed in Birjand.

In 2024, according to 812 reports compiled by HRANA, the Iranian regime executed 930 individuals in its prisons—marking the highest number of executions in the past 12 years. Despite the scale of these executions, prison officials and other relevant authorities publicly acknowledged only 6% of them, highlighting the regime’s lack of transparency and accountability.

Eight Prisoners Executed Across Iran Over the Past Four Days

HRANA has reported the execution of eight prisoners across various prisons in Iran over the past four days. Six of the executed individuals had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges, and two for murder.

On Saturday, November 1, the death sentence of a prisoner in Bojnurd Prison was carried out. HRANA has identified this prisoner as Hashem Mardani. According to information obtained by HRANA, Mr. Mardani had previously been arrested on charges of murder and later sentenced to death by the Criminal Court.

On Sunday, November 2, Mohammad Ali Golmohammadi, a prisoner convicted of drug-related offenses, was executed in Malayer Prison. On the same day, the execution of an Afghan national named Khodayar (last name unknown), who had also been sentenced to death for drug-related crimes, was carried out in Taybad Prison. Another prisoner, Abbas Sad-Kharvi, was executed in Sabzevar Prison. All three had been sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court.

On Monday, November 3, Varahmad Azizi was executed in Birjand Prison on drug-related charges. That same day in Zanjan Prison, another death-row prisoner convicted of murder was hanged.

On Tuesday, November 4, the death sentences of two prisoners previously convicted of drug-related offenses were carried out in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. HRANA has identified one of them as Amir Goudarzi.

At the time of this report, the executions of these prisoners have not been announced by prison officials or other relevant authorities.

Hadi Jamalipour Sentenced to Eight Years in Prison for “Insulting the Supreme Leader” and “Supporting Israel”

HRANA – Hadi Jamalipour, a resident of Birjand, has been sentenced by Branch 1 of the Revolutionary Court of this city to eight years in prison and one year of dismissal from public and governmental service.

This verdict was issued and communicated to Mr. Jamalipour on October 21 by Branch 1 of the Birjand Revolutionary Court. Based on the ruling, he was sentenced to two years in prison for “insulting the Supreme Leader,” one year for “propaganda against the regime,” and five years for “promoting and supporting Israel,” amounting to a total of eight years in prison. Additionally, he was sentenced to one year of dismissal from public and governmental service as a supplementary punishment.

Under Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, the most severe sentence, five years in prison, will be enforceable for Mr. Jamalipour.

Jamalipour was arrested on June 19 of this year by agents of the Ministry of Intelligence at his private residence. During the arrest, officers searched his home and confiscated several electronic devices. He was then transferred to The Ministry of Intelligence’s detention facility in Birjand and, two days later, moved to Birjand Prison.

Jamalipour was ultimately released from Birjand Prison after eight days in custody, upon posting a bail of 750 million tomans.

Hadi Jamalipour, 42 years old, is an employee of Payam Noor University and a resident of Birjand.
